Michael Jackson Dead Today

This is insane, this is the first time I have been “shocked” when a celebrity dies. I can’t believe it.

RIP Michael, maybe now people will finally leaev you alone.
I was quite shocked when Anna Nicole Smith died.

Regardless, this man changed the world with his music. RIP.

What an attention whore…Farrah dies so MJ has to die too.
I’m with you on this one. I heard earlier today that Farrah died, and then heard that MJ (initially) was rushed to the hospital and later died.

Selfish fuck, can’t Farrah have a whole day? At least she was normal from what I know. Michael, whacked out child diddling fruit loop.

WOW earlier someone said in the Fawcett thread that celebrities always die in gruops of 3 =O and now this! I guess that confirms de theory…

MTV is playing all his videos right now for anyone who’s interested.

Sad and all that but mainly for his children. He was a great entertainer but I am more shocked by it than deeply moved by it. I cant count on myself being a fan and hope we dont have a grief fest like what happened when Princess Diana died

Sorry I know of Farrah and ofcourse Michael Jackson but was there a third celebrity who died today?

Ed McMahon died the other day…

i think the third person he was referring to was ed mcmahon…

Yea,…lets just neglect the fact he was convicted of sexual battery with a 13 year old boy…

You want a influencial musician? Reaserch Bach.

But with all respect of his career.

You’re talking about the most famous man in the world. Yeah, there’s alot of famous people and most of them are weirdos, but none of them are Michael Jackson famous. Tom Cruise is famous, and he’s a fucking loon, but he’s not Michael Jackson famous. Angelina Jolie’s pretty fucking famous and pretty fucking weird, but she’s not Michael Jackson famous.

There’s been three people in the history of the world who’ve attained that level of noteriety and they’ve all self destructed: Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears, and maybe she’s young enough that she can somewhat do damage control. There reaches a point of being TOO famous, and these three hit it. I’m not condoning what he did, or allegedly did, but no one here will ever understand the level of insanity his life reached on every concieveable level.

The first tape I ever bought was BAD when I was in kindergarten. He was the greatest entertainer in music history, and no one will be able to touch what he’s done. Show some fucking respect.

Sorry, I had to respond to this. Britney Spears? I’m not sure if you were being sarcastic or not. People who attain the level of fame of a Michael Jackson or an Elvis never fall from that fame.

I know you were looking for a third person to throw in there in order to make a triplet, but Britney was a poor choice. John Lennon would have been much closer to the mark…

I’m being completely serious. I wasn’t looking for a third person to just fit in there, she was honestly the most famous person in the world for a period, and it did the same thing to her as it did to Elvis and Jackson. And, Jackson did fall from that fame. He’s not as famous now as he was in the late 80’s, but people still remember who and what he was.
If you are being serious, then you ought to rethink this. It’s unfair to claim that “fame” is only dictated by how many people know who you are. Globalization has allowed an extraordinary number of people to gain “notoriety” for extremely short periods of time. If Britney Spears dies at the age of 50, there will not be around the clock news coverage of it (nor would there be if she dies tomorrow). Nor will there be hundreds of people lining up outside her hospital.

You’re really talking about someone who is “where are they now” famous. She’s someone with no staying power. For instance, I’m pretty sure that the Backstreet Boys were just as well known back in the late nineties as was Britney.

RIP

If Bill Clinton were to die tomorrow, his affair with Monica Lewinski would be the last thing people would talk about.

A bit stunned, regardless of the child allegations, for those first three solo albums alone he is to be saluted

Damn it michael jackson why couldn’t your heart just " beat it"

When Lance Bass came out of the closet no one really cared. When Britney Spears bought a pack of cigs there was 30 paparazzi documenting it. Her peak may’ve been short lived, but she was the most famous person in the world for a period. That cannot be questioned.

That’s one rumor none of us need.

I am shocked at this…not because he died because we all will…but because he died NOW. He was only 50 years old.

No matter what anyone says, he will go down in history as one of the most talented artists ever.
x2…especially on the cusp of his ‘comeback,’ world tour…the first thought through my head, was a possible fake death?

I bet he gets more visitors than the pope did…

Where were you the day the music died?

RIP MJ, much respect to your talents

I think it was made perfectly clear a couple pages ago that Chuck Norris decided it was his time. Fucking dumb fuck.

I just want to know which of his monkeys is going to inherit his estate.
