I was reading the free agency thread and most of you guys who post in there are absolutely dumb as a rock…
How could you not think the Heat are going to win the championship next year? Dwade won it WITH ANTOINE WALKER… he has Lebron and Bosh now. A lot of you say “OMG BUT THEY ALL SHOOT THE BALL SO MUCH OMGZZZ IT WILL NEVER WORK!!!” If you watch the heat or cavs both dwade and lebron are not selfish players at all. Lastly i see people saying “OMG BUT LOOK AT THE OLYMPIC TEAM AND HOW THEY FAILED IN THE PAST WITH SO MANY GOOD PLAYERS”…these three guys are FRIENDS, they have been planning this for a long time and have great chemistry already. Combine that with their high basketball IQ and they are going to dominate every team in the league.
Not conceding a championship to anyone, yet. Wade has had his injury issues. Role players are essential, also. Someone has to do the dirty work, i.e., rebound and play lock-down defense. Miami may win it all, but I do not see multiple championships. Who is going to play point?

I don’t really care about what team wins. But, do you really think the point guard is important. You have two ball handlers in LBJ and Wade, so the guy would hardly touch the ball. That being said, Mario Chalmers or Fisher(if they get him) can stand on the 3 point and shoot open 3’s.
and whats with the dude saying they colluded to play together? All the players followed the rules of free agency, who cares if they all want to play together, its funny how for the first TIME EVER players are actually taking LESS MONEY to play on a team together, they are friends why shouldn’t they want to play together, it just so happens that each one of them are fucking really good, not their fault.
And you know what, fuck all the people from cleveland crying about what happened. If lebron james came into the league and sucked the owner would have NO PROBLEM trading him in an instant, so stfu and go cry in a corner.
I’m just hoping its Miami Heat -vs- Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals. Would be the first time two teams from the same state were in the Conference Finals and a huge boost to the local economy, not to mention a good game.
the heat are in talks with derek fisher for those who were talking about role players. also, udonis haslem, dasean butler, mario chalmers, carlos arroyo. these are all role players.
the Heat have to sign 9 other players… they only have 4 now. The wont get fisher because they’re offering him half of what he got last year.
haslem, butler, arroyo… thats only three. They already have chalmers signed. so they need 6 more players assuming they get all of those other guys.
You cant just hand a team a ring because of how stacked they look. I mean look at the US Olympic/world championship teams as of late (excluding this most recent olympics) You really just never know how players will play together or how injuries can effect a team over a full season.

this is actually a very real possibility… Its going to hurt the Magic’s chances if JJ leaves for the Bulls though. That would be kinda cool to have an all florida ECF though.

not really sure? He wants 5 mill a year (cause thats what he got last year) but he hasnt been offered that yet by either the Heat or LA. Miami cant offer that with the amount of cash they have and the number of players they need.
I think if it comes down to him choosing LA or Miami for the same amount of money he’ll stay in LA. Just my opinion though cause he’s living here and his family (little kids) are in school in LA already but who knows?
I don’t know people are getting so bent out of shape with this situation. Lebron has had unfathomable expectations laid upon him, and he has failed to deliver on the biggest one: a ring. He’s hedging his bets and going where he will almost certainly win one or more, though I don’t think he really understands what this does to his legacy; Jordan had a team assembled around him and won 6 championships, Kobe has taken a similar path since Shaq left and won two in a row. Lebron is playing the role of mercenary and that will be his legacy. He will be the guy who couldn’t handle expectations and had to buy his way into a championship.

yeah pretty much this^^
Like LeBron or not there will is no denying that this move to Miami will impact his “legacy” negatively. Unless these three can team up and go on a Championship run the likes of which have never been seen (something like 5+ rings in a row) then it’ll be looked at with a bit of a negative connotation. Either way you look at it LBJ doesnt have a chance of going down as the GOAT. (i think no one ever will overtake jordan as GOAT anyway)

The only thing about the money part is that there is no state tax in Florida so if they offer the same amount to him in both places he would be able to keep more of it with the heat.

He would but he’d have to move out there and get a new place and all that. It would be easier to take a little less and stay “home”… its not like he needs the money at this point in his career.
