That’s because you always have your hands down your pants…

Don’t try and fool us.

I could get all my dress clothes tailored but that’s just to pricey for everyday wear.

What is too pricey for you for custum cut pants. Would $60.00 get it for ya?

Why do you know a guy?

I’m actually considering this as a business venture. I live in Asia and could set up with quality tailors and cloth fairly easily. The question is would athletes go for the $60.00 price tag. This price would actually be the low end of what’s available now for custom cut pants.

However, since off the rack pants are more like $30.00 or less, I am worried people won’t want to make the jump. I’ve been having my pants custom cut for years, and I wouldn’t go back. Of course, because I buy here, it actually comes out to about $30.00. I would pay $60.00 if I had to, just wouldn’t have as many pairs.
Only $60.00 for quality custom pants? I am in. That is absolutely on the low-end, the amount I pay for custom cut tailored pants here in the states makes me nauseous everytime I think about it, but they are more comfortable and look better.

Thanks gentlemen for the feedback on the custom cut pants idea, it’s really an encouragement. I hadn’t seen Harry’s MakeYourOwnJeans site before. Harry says on his site he is so busy that he’s had to add a week to his shipping estimate.

There are some import quota issues that I have to look into before I can decide that my idea is doable. In the meantime, check out Harry in India. I looked at his feedback for his eBay business, and he has a lot of very satisfied customers.

If I do it though, I won’t cut pants for guys with beer guts or bird legs. Harry’s drop down menu for additional cloth via waist measurements goes to 89 inches and above. Shocking. Even powerlifters will be limited to how big I’ll cut a waist for them. You’ll have to earn the privilege to have my taylors cut your pants. Maybe I’ll even require you to send in a photo of yourself with your first order doing squats or lunges.

I’ll keep everyone on this thread in mind. If it works out, I’ll do some testing here on T-Nation, with deep discounts of course.

Try Bill’s Khakis. They’re pricey, but high quality, heavy weight material. They have a couple different styles. They can be found at higher end clothing shops, which also usually offer tailoring. Thye can also be found online. This is good for short folks like me.
bills khakis are pretty nice. expensive but they are worth it. they have 2 cuts though the m-1 and the m-2. the m-1 ones are the good ones with longer rise and more thigh room. the m-2 are cut more like the usual metro stuff.

i liked the the “low-slung, pants-exposing, hip-hop/skater boy baggy thing” although id wear a belt, because at least the fitted.

it works on the waif like indie boys.

But not on me and my giant arse!

32 inch waist but i have walk around in 36-38 inch jeans. and you get the bunching up at the top when you wear a belt.

i get all mine from http://www.bleubolt.co.uk/wear/default.php
some of them are a bit too alternative for me, but some of their stuff good. Although at 23 i feel im prehaps getting too old for the style :frowning:

A thread after my own heart.

I’ve been fighting this in some form my whole life. My waist is about 33" and my inseam is 30" [that’s what I buy, but they’re too long even at that length] and I’ve got a definite squatter’s ass going on. I don’t know my thigh measurement, but I’m 205lbs and squat 495 X 10, if that gives a ballpark. And I hate buying jeans. I too just cinch up the belt and deal with the fact my keys barely fit into my pocket because my thighs stick out so far. What I hate is that after about a month, the inside of the thighs is worn white because the muscle on the insides of my legs rubs together when I walk. I’ve had the best luck, fitting-wise, with Polo jeans. The downside is that you have to buy Polo brand clothes.

I hate buying nice shirts even more. I wear a 17 or 18 neck, and even if I buy fitted shirts in that size, the shoulders are too tight for me to raise my arms but the waist is cut for some beer belly fatass. Some of my dress shirts look like sun dresses around the waist.

The worst part about Americans’ getting so fat is that the clothes here are all designed for fat people. Or metrosexuals.

Well, if I buy wranglers in 32x32, I look like I painted pants on, and if I buy 34x32, I look like a shoplifter. But, on the positive side, I can pick up a pair of pants for 15-20 dolllars.

I don’t know about you all, but I want a pair of these.

Holy shit, that looks painful. Never seen a guy with camel toe before.

Nothing beats a good pair of carpenter jeans from any manufacturer as far as pants go Claibrone makes a decent pair of pants, plus side nice and roomy, downside they have pleats and are made of microfiber(polyester)

A good tailor, guys. A good tailor. Find jeans/pants that fit you in the ass and the legs and get the waist taken in and have them do whatever else they need to to make them look good. Easier with dress pants than jeans for some reasons. I have to get all of my nice/designer-ish clothes altered to look good and not like a jackass, and I’m not as big as some of the guys on this site.

Yeah. As far as suits go, Joseph Abboud athletic cut is your best bet. Pants and jacket are likely to still need altering for many of us, but he makes clothes for athletes. Suits will still look much better altered than just a bigger size of another brand and cut. Very good in fact. I think my recent interview suits by him fit me like a glove and almost look cutom-made now after some alterations.

Buy non-fitted shirts in that size. You’ll have more room in the shoulders. Have the tailors take the sides in. Any tailor can make a shirt fit well if it fits the important places already, ie. the neck and shoulders.
