First off I agree with Pauly Bruce and that this isn’t by anymeans a sellout CD. It won’t have very much airplay, if it does its because they are Metallica, so at least you won’t hear it every five songs like all the rest of the puke radio stations out there. Second, every Metallica album has evolved. Just like Pual T said. Each one has a little different flavor as the previous one. Kill was pure speed and raw, Lightening was speed but had more a refined sound(if you can say that about metal!) Master was really heavy, justice was harder with more of a kick, Black was more radio friendly and the loads were an more of a musical experiment with dirrent types of sounds and music. I love all the albums and the band. This one took some listening to it and after a few times through, even though i do have some complaints, I like it. Metallica will always evolve, that what the great bands do. Hell did the Beatles or the Stones sound they same at the beginning of their careers as they did at the end?
JUST BRING BACK JASON DAMNIT!!!
My roomate gets a better drum sound in his home studio. He mentioned that maybe Metallica figures everyone will download their stuff off the 'net, so why put a lot of time/effort/money into good production?
Well put siscokid!!!

Funny stuff. I spose they get tis all the time. Havn’t heard the album yet. St sounds thrashin. Shit vocals n snare (sorry)
I fianlly got a chance to listen to the whole album today. There are some really good songs on this album. But, God, I wish they spent more time mixing it! It is their least produced album. The lack of production turns what could have been a great album into an ok one.
St. Anger does seem to be the worst song.
I think I’ll rank this as their 5th best album. Definately better than the Black, Load, & Relaod.
Tell you what though… That is one Beastly looking video they did for the song.
Filmed at San Quentin or some hellhole.
