Metabolic Drive on the Airplane?

Hey guys, I’m going on spring break this upcoming week and want to bring some protein powder to try and stick to some clean eating for a little bit.

My tub of Metabolic Drive is already opened so I was going to bring a smaller container for space purposes… So, my question is, unmarked container full of unknown powder, suspicious or not? Checked baggage or carry on??

Thanks for your input.

If any airport security gives you shit for it, offer them a taste. Even the dumbest drug pushers aren’t making brown, chocolate flavored blow (BTW, this only works if the MD is on your person.)

Thanks for the quick reply,
So you think taking it on the plane with me is the safest bet? I was leaning that way just because you can’t explain to the examiners of checked baggage…

The title to this thread should have been
“Shakes on a Plane.”

I’ve often worried about this too, but I get away with it every single time, even sandwich bags full of creatine!

I usually pack Metabolic Drive into a Surge container for shorter trips.

I also pack all my capsules and tablets into baggies and then place all the baggies in a Biotest creatine container. Saves a ton of space, with no crushed capsules. No trouble at airports.

Awesome thanks for all the replies, I even got the go ahead from the Boss, Shugart.
If it wasn’t for that FFB Handbook being my Bible, this wouldn’t have been an issue, haha.

Chris, Do you put everything in your carry-on?

I once had the same problem also. I used several different ziplocks for my protein shakes. I also packed along some walnuts and protein bars close by so they can have an idea of what the powder is. They gave me no trouble.

Some of it - lots of tablets in baggies (BCAA) in the carry-on.

Most goes in the checked luggage though. But it has been inspected (got the little note in there) and no troubles.

I did have a friend get away with taking a bag of MD and an empty shaker bottle on board though.

Flew last week; carry-on (so it was x-rayed) had multiple zip-loc bags with pre-measured Surge, pre-measured Metabolic Drive; bag with Flameout capsules; TRIBEX bottle; BCAA bottle.

What did they get me for at security? The 4.5-ounce Clinique bottle my wife stuck in there. (No, really; it WAS my wife’s. Seriously.)

I took an army duffel bag full of Metabolic Drive and Surge on a flight to Europe. I just put it in my checked baggage.

Yup, I’ve had unmarked containers of random powders carried onto probably the last 20 flights I’ve taken, and not once have they ever been an issue.

However my chapstick has been vigorously inspected numerous times.

Bizarre…

I’m a flight attendant so I guess I’m lucky in respect to taking my Metobolic Drive and healthy food through security and on the airplane…I guess the uniform comes in handy at times!! I usually bring a rubbermaid or glad plastic container with lines to measure one to two cups of water on it.

I have my Metabolic Drive in plastic baggies and dump it into my container and shake it up. Another flight attendant I just had a trip with had a travel blender which plugs in. It would be great to be able to use it to blend with ice.

Problem though, on the planes there usually isn’t an outlet while we’re flying. Has anyone seen a travel blender that runs on batteries that is strong enough to blend up ice with the Metabolic Drive??? The Metabolic Drive blends so well with just water but I like it thicker with ice…

BTW, if any of you ever happen to be on one of my flights, let me know and I’ll get you whatever you need…I know how it is to eat every couple of hours…
JK…Hope you have a wonderful trip and you’re going somewhere fun!!

I’m going to visit a buddy in San Diego, flying Southwest Airlines. Got the flight SO cheap back in November. $211 round trip from Philly Int’l total with all taxes and everything.

JK…How fun!! I LOVE San Diego!! I’m sure you’ll have a great time with your buddy…I was just in Philly last week…It was sooo cold and BUSY!! That airport is crazy!! You’ll be glad to get to some nice weather…Too bad you’re flying the competition!! J/K I have a friend that’s a pilot with Southwest!! Good deal on the airfare!! Have a wonderful time…Let us know how your trip was!!

I’ve always wondered about this. I have never been sure so I have always stocked up in protein bars for the actual journeys. Then, when I arrive, the race is on to find some protein powder in whatever destination i’m in.

I’m travelling abroad in April so I will give it a shot.

Thanks

KP

last time i flew back from out east, they asked me what the greens powder was, that was it, no questions about all the BCAAs, fishoil, or var i had in my carryon. also Spike Shooter was a ok for checked baggage.

as for flights to europe, i have often had either ziplocks of protein powder or tubs of it along with assorted supplements. they usually don’t even bother with asking about it. it seems they are mainly worried about perishable food items as those are the ones which may harbor foreign species which can wreak havoc on the agricultural mileau. and of course contraband and terrorists.
