I’ve passed a kidney stone and I birthed 3 babies by natural childbirth; 2 of which were twins, 7 pounds each. Kidney stones are a piece of cake. Imagine what it’s like to pass a 7 pound kidney stone through that delicate area. Then 11 minutes later, pass another one.
If men had babies, there wouldn’t be any human beings on the planet.[/quote]
Imagine for some unknown reason, you develop a perforated viscera, and have 9 hour emergency surgery. When you wake up, you are on a ventilator, because your left lung collapsed during the surgery. You stay in the ICU for 1 month, followed by a 3 month stay in a regular hospital bed. You are unable to eat or drink anything by mouth for 6 weeks, losing 60 lbs, to the point where you are actually living off of organ tissue. Yes, you go from 225 to 160, and your body is now breaking down kidney, lung, and heart tissue to survive getting calories where it can.
When you are able to talk, your doctor tells you that you ripped a hole in your intestinal wall, having fecal matter spread throughout your viscera, which holds your kidneys, pancreas, liver, and spleen. So they must remove (literally cut all attaching tendons or ligaments), then clean each organ off one at a time, then sew it back inside you. All the while, you are becoming toxic, as the fecal matter has now entered your bloodstream, and you have literally poisoned yourself, requiring 2 blood transfusions. But it’s no smooth sailing my friends, your heart stops beating and you need to get jump started with some defibrillator paddles. I flatlined for about 2 minutes, having an out of body experience which still makes my skin crawl. More awesomeness.
When it’s all said and done, you have 40 sutures closing your incision, lost about 60 lbs, with 18 months of rehab.
Welcome to peritonitis my friends.
