Seriously? You’re not happy being married?

I’m not dreaming. I’m believing.

I’m not surprised by your post. After all, everything said about females AS A WHOLE - as a GROUP - COLLECTIVELY - applies to you - one SINGLE person - right?
Deb’s not single, she’s in a relationship.

In all Lucky Charms cerealness though, the ladies on TN elected Deb to be our spokesperson.

Women want to be treated equally with men, then say that we want men to listen to us. But we don’t listen to men so that’s a double standard.

I didn’t mean single as in “taken”. I meant “single” versus “group”.

I’ve passed a kidney stone and I birthed 3 babies by natural childbirth; 2 of which were twins, 7 pounds each. Kidney stones are a piece of cake. Imagine what it’s like to pass a 7 pound kidney stone through that delicate area. Then 11 minutes later, pass another one.

If men had babies, there wouldn’t be any human beings on the planet.
Imagine for some unknown reason, you develop a perforated viscera, and have 9 hour emergency surgery. When you wake up, you are on a ventilator, because your left lung collapsed during the surgery. You stay in the ICU for 1 month, followed by a 3 month stay in a regular hospital bed. You are unable to eat or drink anything by mouth for 6 weeks, losing 60 lbs, to the point where you are actually living off of organ tissue. Yes, you go from 225 to 160, and your body is now breaking down kidney, lung, and heart tissue to survive getting calories where it can.

When you are able to talk, your doctor tells you that you ripped a hole in your intestinal wall, having fecal matter spread throughout your viscera, which holds your kidneys, pancreas, liver, and spleen. So they must remove (literally cut all attaching tendons or ligaments), then clean each organ off one at a time, then sew it back inside you. All the while, you are becoming toxic, as the fecal matter has now entered your bloodstream, and you have literally poisoned yourself, requiring 2 blood transfusions. But it’s no smooth sailing my friends, your heart stops beating and you need to get jump started with some defibrillator paddles. I flatlined for about 2 minutes, having an out of body experience which still makes my skin crawl. More awesomeness.

When it’s all said and done, you have 40 sutures closing your incision, lost about 60 lbs, with 18 months of rehab.

Welcome to peritonitis my friends.

Geezus Max, are you okay? You are really lucky you didn’t die (duh, you know this). I just lost a cousin this way this year. So…are you okay?

I am doing ok now, all this happened in 2005. But seriously, it took me a long time to get back into normal health. My doc told me that peritonitis is VERY deadly, he gave me crazy statistics where you are actually likely to die than to survive. But, just like Gaul, Germania, and the Barbarian Hordes, I gave it a kick in the ass

Scientific data suggests that passing a kidney stone is actually more painful than giving child birth. So any time a woman tries to use that excuse when the subject of ball-kicking comes up…

…tell them to go back to the kitchen and finish cooking your food.
That’s not the point. If you pass a kidney stone you have no choice. The point is most men who see their wife go through labor know they would take the drugs sooner than their wife.
What? How many women do you know that have given birth without some kind of drugs to numb pain?

How many people take similar drugs when passing a kidney stone?
Well, I’m one woman who has given birth without any drugs, and my second son was over ten pounds. Actually, I know quite a few women who have chosen to bring their babies into the world drug-free. I don’t think most men could tolerate the pain of labor.

LOL!

Hey, that could be taken 2 ways. I told my wife recently that I hope I die before she does.
I’m just too much of a wuss to imagine life without her (if she died first).
We say that stuff too, in jest of course. As strong as we think we are I realize I’d be weaker without her.

I’m sure (I hope) Beans is saying this in jest. Because I’m married and I laughed at his statement even though I love my wife dearly

Also Grneyes, you’re recently married? The sentiments are different then, they are very lovely. But a marriage grows over time and needs daily nurturing.

Lately my wife has been embarking on more spiritual courses and I can feel she’s getting stronger mentally and spiritually than when we first met or over teh 6 years we’ve been married. A few recent incidents affecting my job, my health and her family issues have shown me how incredibly strong she is.

Back to topic, I don’t really care who the stronger sex is, just perform your duty and act responsibly when it’s your turn to step up.

My opinion as a doctor is that demerol suck ass.

So, I’m just curious, if a man were to get pregnant, and he were to be in labor he’d just decide halfway through “Hell naw, I don’t think I’m going to have the baby,” and just stop there, because we couldn’t ‘tolerate it?’

What do statements like those mean?

Some men have been shot, cut, amputated, blown up, beaten and still kept going.
Why would the pain of giving birth be somehow too much?

Because men cannot physically give birth to a child so therefore … we cannot tolerate the pain of labor.

That’s a strawman if I ever saw one.
