Men Allowed Into Women's Gyms?

There are plenty of cases of women trying to join men’s clubs and taking it to court or protesting by other means. Perhaps you recall what has gone on at Augusta Country Club, where the officers of the club were basically pilloried because women are not allowed to become members.

I don’t think you have this one quite right. Augusta National is a private country club that members can join only when they have been invited to join. It just so happens that no woman has ever been invited to join Augusta. Every woman in America could want to join Augusta but if the current membership and board does not feel as though they want to invite any of them, that is their prerogative.

Now I can see why this pisses off woman’s groups and that is why there were protests. But there was no attempt to join Augusta that was turned down. There just were no invitations to join sent out.

Semantical? Maybe. But a huge difference I think.

After thinking about this a little bit more, I remember reading a post here a month or so ago talking about men and women. I think that the problem lies within that there ARE differences between men and women which will never change ie: gender. So unless women want to share locker rooms EVERYWHERE along with everything else, thier argument is nil.
True that! I don’t mind sharing, as long as it’s “equal” but if we’re going to discriminate I want it “equal” as well. If you can interview me, while I am in the nude. Well I can sure as hell interview you in the nude.

Yes, fight for your right to give the brain, belch, and scratch our asses.

I don’t know if there are yet, but I am writing a business plan as we speak. I shall call it ‘Dunlops’.

Or how about “Moobs?” “Voiceover: Are you a man and you have what are considered breasts? Well here at Moobs, we will help you get to the point where you can burn that bra.”

“Cuts” was pretty damn funny as well.

Any private organisation should be able to set admission standards as they see fit without legal recourse. What societal outrage occurs and whether that has an impact on the clubs ‘interests’ that is of sufficient significance to cause consideration for change, is also then a matter entirely for that club.

A true Libertarian.

i cant stand listening to the radio and hearing the comercial for some random club and it say “ladies get in free before mid-night” why should they be in for free. that pisses me off although i dont go clubbing.
Probably because if they didn’t do that, many clubs would end up with 3 women and 50 men on the floor.
