Whoa. 7 a.m.?

You might want to slow that train down a bit before it wrecks.

And congrats on G+. Now please make an appearance on your “welcome” thread.
Yes! “Good morning!” He’s duck hunting this morning, if it was a work day he’d probably just have texted it. We haven’t even gotten to second base yet.

I think I may have a real talent for first dates. lol

I’m still trying to acclimate myself to the G+ thing. I’ll go in again tonight. Now I’m late for work because I was on the phone for a half hour and then on TNation.

Update: hunter guy is NOT following AC’s rules for being cool and having a good time. He’s calling and texting a lot, to the point that even I am feeling crowded, and we all know that’s not like me. Or maybe it’s the first time I’ve really been tuned into the crowding. Is this because he’s horny? Desperate? He’s already saying things that are suggestive of possessiveness and long term, though I can’t think of an example offhand. But it’s definitely there.

Do I have to dump him? I’ve been clear that I’m not ready to think about anything beyond just enjoying myself in the here and now.

I think it’s connected to sex. I think maybe what happens is that these guys go into hyper-competitive mode because I’m not after casual sex with multiple men. But I don’t know how to manage that piece.

You tell us lol!

We made the dating rules because of you girls not for you.

Really? I happen to like my Smith & Wesson .357/.38 caliber with a 6 inch barrel.
I happen to like it too. A LOT. That will get the job done, well. Do you carry that in your purse? You should. Pointing the business end of that bad boy at a would be rapist will change his mind real quick.
I carry a Ruger .357 with a 3 inch barrel. A little easier to conceal in the belt. Ordered some new Wolfe springs for it to smooth out the trigger. I love the S&W trigger.
I still think .380’s are great female guns, but if you want to carry a cannon, by all means do so. I just don’t know many women who like the recoil from .357’s.

I’m proud of our Sturgie.
Brings a tear to my eye. That’s a beautiful gun.

Might I recommend the Ruger LC380? I love this gun, super easy to use easy to shoot. You can even get pink tipped +P rounds from Hornady.

The Beretta Pico comes in pink as well. .380.

Oh! We’re like kindred gun spirits! That’s exactly what I want to get someday, except the Ruger version.
I have a Ruger SP101 .357 Magnum. I’ll be happy to answer any questions about my experience and love of that weapon.

Have I said lately how much I love T Nation?
Is it time to start a ‘Chicks who love guns’ thread?

If it’s the hammerless version I think that’s the best pocket/purse weapon available. It is so easy to carry. And if being easier to carry it makes you carry it more often then it’s a better choice if only for that reason.

Penelope…I mean Em, we want to see you armed and ready for the dating world.
I was planning to just use my unusual goose-stepping stride to flee their clutches. I haven’t ever looked, but I’m not sure I’m allowed to carry where I am. But maybe. It would undoubtedly be a lot easier if I just shot these guys at the end of the second date, which is when things always seem to get confusing, so a gun would probably be helpful.

I think there is a thread for girls with guns, Pat. Edit: oops, already noted.

I am not a fan of women, or anyone for that matter, relying on their self defense with a .380. The ballistics are horrible. The stopping power is horrible. Relative to the other choices, of course.

Go with the .357 and load it with mild .38 rounds if that’s what it takes to get recoil and muzzle blast into acceptable range during practice and load with .357 rounds when you carry for defense. I’m somewhat convinced that the mind disregards the additional noise and muzzle blast in a life and death scenario. That of course doesn’t happen on the range.
Sure, the .380 is not the best, but if you can point it and shoot it accurately is will get the job done. If you cannot handle the weapon, then it’s no good to you. And there are good penetrating .380 rounds that do the job. I don’t see the .38 being much better than a an aggressive hollow point .380. Hornady makes the best .380 rounds IMO. Haven’t tried Buffalo bore, but I am sure, since they tend to hot load everything, it will kill the shit out of somebody.

If you put a .357 Magnum in that little thing, hold on…tight. This is what I have and as small as I would dare go with the Magnum rounds. They have been known to crack engine blocks yaa know, they are no joke.
And I want the option of single action.

It’s really about being a single girl and being with, running into, or otherwise coming across a bastard who wants to rape you or violate you in other ways.

That shit bothers me and I want single girls armed to protect themselves.

Hmm, looks like I could carry concealed. But then I think about how long it takes me to find my phone when it’s ringing and I despair of getting my attacker killed in time. I’d still be yelling “Help! Help!” and employing my unusual goose-stepping stride. lol

They make conceal carry purses with a specific pocket for the gun. Or better, carry it on your person cocked and locked, safety on. Those little .380’s I was talking about conceal easy. Get training at your local shooting range and you’re all set for a rape free life. If you like guns and want to carry something bigger by all means do so. But .380 is the minimum.

I consider it important, I have a daughter and I will be damned if she’s going to be a statistic. I am not naive about what she may or may not do in her adult life, but I at least want what she does to be her will alone.
Single woman are easy targets, don’t be one. That’s all I am saying. Goosestepping won’t help you much with an aggressive male.
