BTW…you guys must have chins make of steel. Is it normal for my chins to be bleeding after every DL workout? Really sucks in the shower the next morning.[/quote]
I assume you mean shins, the only thing that hurts on me is right below the knees, I don;t drag the bar up my shins, but I do sometimes catch my kneecap. Of course, I have to think about leaning back more myself, like you are getting coached to do here. I’ll probably start having shin scrapes more, as well.
On a side note, I have split my chin before doing military press, good thing I don’t have a glass jaw, or I might have been hurt with it falling on me as I knocked myself out.

WTF…god I suck at spelling. Thanks Ogre. If i’m scraping them now, when i’m not pulling back, it’s really gonna suck next week. Maybe instead of thinking “pull back” i’ll just see how much skin I can scrape off my shin. Can’t pull back much further than that.
People sometimes ask me if I’m either an MMA fighter or an extreme sports (skateboarding/rollerblading) guy, due to my shins being jacked up. Some of the damage is from work but a good bit is from deadlifts. I keep meaning to get some long socks, so people can laugh at me until they realize how relatively weak they are and go do some curls (also to protect my shins), but I keep not doing it.
One idea per workout, or week even, ain’t bad. Improving your strength and technique are long term projects.
nb: I also miss the pink. I now feel my 24 hour facility is less awesome than it could be because it’s all in black and chrome. I’m completely serious by the way.
Squat:
bar x 10,10
95x10
135x8
185x5
225x3
255x1
275x1
295x1 = # 20 lb PR (1.51 x BW)
225 x 5,5,5
RDL:
145x12
245x 7,6,6
GHR (at lat pull station)
BW x 7,6,5
Seated Row:
210x 12,10,9
Pull up: Medium grip
BW x 7,6,5
Face Pull:
75 x 18,15,15
Last week I had to fight for a 275# squat. At that time it was a 20lb PR from the week before deload. Tonight 275 felt easy so I added another 20# and went for 295. It went up easier than 275 last week. I gotta think this is as much from technique and getting used to the weight on my back as anything. I doubt that I have gained an additional 15% in strength. Something must be working for me though. I know that 1.5 x BW squat is no big accomplishment but it sure feels like i’m on the right track.
Bench:
bar x 10,10
95x10
135x10
185x8
225x3
245x1
265x1 = + 5 lb PR (1.36 x BW)
225x 5,5,4
145x14
DB Incline press:
80’s x 7,7,6
A1 - Cybex incline - 3x10
A2 - BO rear delt - 3x12
Kind of a crappy night. I was tired from not enough sleep and sore from last nights squat workout. Made it difficult to stay in my legs and that took my focus off keeping my back tight. Everything just felt off. I managed to squeak out a 5 lb pr but I honestly believe I’ve got more in me. i wan’t a 1.5 x BW bench so freakin bad…
Heh, I didn’t even see the press the 1st two times I played the vid, was too busy watching the guy in the background F the ball. There has to be a better way to do back extensions that that. The press looked pretty smooth, I might have tried for an ugly double if it was me. good lifting, staying right ahead of me, at less weight, dammit.

Thanks Ogre,
My gym has its share of tards. I should send that guy a copy of the video…I would want to know.
There’s no way that was going for a double. I probably wouldn’t have even tried it for a single but I’m really trying to keep up with Joegood…and he’s not making it easy.

x2. Had to watch a 2nd time because I was distracted the first. Unbelievable. Why do people pay lots of money on gym memberships to do crap like that?

Ogre, You’ve got 1 rep on me at 225 and 245. I’m sure that you could already blow through 265. Lower the knees a bit and add in some leg drive and I’m guessing you have much more.
