McNabb to Skins

Lol, Tom Brady won 3 superbowls without any weapons and you’re giving ALL credit to Belichick?

And I’m guessing you mean Brady became reliable when they got Moss? Sure, if by reliable you mean record breaking QB.

WTF are you talking about?

Why the FUCK would you bring in so many runningbacks when your oline sucks my left testicle? Maybe if they focused on their o-line, portis would stand a better chance. Now you have 3 running backs that are going to butt heads yet no o-line.

That team had/has sooo many veteran players they have the potential to be a very solid team. That owner is an idiot and a stubborn asshole. I?¢??m sorry, but until he relinquishes ownership or let?¢??s someone else call the shots, you Washington fans won?¢??t be seeing shit other than Mcnabb throwing the ball in the dirt.

PS I?¢??m a packers fan. I despise the Eagles as well. Mcnabb is a choke artist and injury prone. Most of the seasons the eagles did well and made a battle cry for the playoffs it was under the arm of a backup QB. They get into the playoffs and then either the defense chokes (Arizona) or Mcnabb throws it in the dirt (superbowl).

I agree Snyder is an idiot, but I believe he has done a pretty decent job of letting the football minds take care of things. This offseason has had many changes I never would have expected.

I also believe that you are going to see some crazy moves happening soon, and that offensive line start to come together.

PS- We should do a spicy food challenge.
Do you think they will deal Haynsworth?

It’s also cost prohibitive to keep Vick, the guy is NOT worth the $5 million he’s getting. Sure, now the Eagles have an insurance policy if Kolb doesn’t play the way they need him to play, but IMO it’s like buying an insurance policy from a bankrupt company, Vick has nothing left.

BTW, I know you weren’t arguing in favor of Vick, but your post was easiest to quote.
I’m not sure I agree with this. He isn’t really making that much more than the top backup QBs and I certainly don’t agree he has nothing left. By what measure would we justify the last statement? Limited action in the wild cat fresh out of prison without the benefit of a full training camp? C’mon. He’s still young and he was a starter in this league before he went to prison and he didn’t do a long stretch. I believe that with a full training camp under his belt this year he can step right in and surprise you - assuming you liked him in ATL to begin with. Believe me, we could be much worse off than Vick at backup.

I thought Vick in Atlanta at full capability was a very good backup. I also don’t think any backup in the league is worth $5 million/year.

I’m down for some spice!! haha

As for the O-Line comment, if you have a very solid, skilled o-line, your offense will prosper with an ok runningback and an ok QB. The O-Line is the heart of any offense no matter how many fancy cuts and quick steps an RB can make, or how many long throws or accurate throws a QB can make.

Focus on the O-Line first, work on the rest when that solid base is built.
The Redskins O-line has been in ruins for a long while. I initially wanted them to keep JC at QB, and spend all their resources on the O-line when we recognized this was going to be a problem.

JC isn’t the problem, the O-line is, but I have faith this will work out. By picking up a QB now, we can spend our #4 pick on Okung instead of spending it on a QB. We can trade out JC for a decent draft pick (supposedly) and grab up a couple more OL guys and some more linebackers.

Originally, I really liked Albert. I didn’t like how the acquisition went down ($100 mil!?!?!?!), but I was willing to accept it for the performance I was expecting out of him. But he has proven to be a bust, like most of the Skins’ big buys of the past. He also can’t seem to get himself into anyone’s good graces, and it doesn’t help when he doesn’t shut his damn mouth.

I would say trade him as he is going to bitch about the 3-4 and getting double-teamed constantly, but I think right now we can’t financially part with him. Unfortunately, he knows he is the $100million man, so expects royal treatment, but doesn’t give his effort in return.

Brian Orakpo in a 3-4 should be scary.

Tom Brady was a no mistakes, let the Defense win type of QB for the first two super bowl wins. This was when they still ran the ball more than they passed. He was like a Phil Simms at QB.

By the 3rd Super Bowl, he was passing more, but they had good running back in Corey Dillon and had a equal balance of pass and run.

From that point on, Tom Brady became good enough to pass the ball non stop. They turned their passing game into a running game(Wes Walker). And then they picked up Moss to stretch the field.

Bill Belichick built that defense and re-built the offense to accommodate for Tom’s weaknesses…and when he grew, he changed it some more.

McNabb was drafted to be a starter and save the Eagles franchise. And he did that with 3 NFC championship appearances early in his career. But the offense the Eagles run have always been Pass first, run second and that just doesn’t cut it in the league. He spent a majority of his career passing to crappy receivers. He had a all pro running back that was underutilized, unless it was in the passing game.

Put McNabb on the Patriots, he would have 4 Super Bowls. Put Brady on the Eagles, not nearly as successful.

Indeed. As much as I hate that they were devoted to D last pre-season, he was a fucking AWESOME pick.

During their 1st 2 superbowls I think they had Kevin Faulk and Antoine Smith…yet they were a run first offense? Brady made plays WHEN HE NEEDED TO MAKE PLAYS!

It almost sounds as if you think Mcnabb is better than Brady. That is completely mind blowing and honestly, I can’t even begin to take you seriously.

Either way, this thread sucks, baseball season is here and I couldn’t give 2 shits about football for another 5 months.

Vicks salary is largely performance based. Acting like he’s a backup quarterback in the past means either you just don’t like running quarterbacks or your blind to how good a person is if they don’t have allstar cast them.

As of now Vick hasn’t proven himself, but you can’t expect him to be great after not playing any football for a year. It’s not like he’s fresh out of college the man just didn’t compete. There’s no practice for game speed, specially for today’s athletes. It will be determined this year if vick has anything left.

I don’t like running QB, but I love SCRAMBLING QB. I think, at this point, it’s pretty obvious that running QBs don’t win and scrambling QBs can win.

BUMP!!

Since this is a Skin’s thread, what’s the thought about trading Albert Haynesworth? It’s getting a lot of attention here in the DC area.

Personally, I think it would be stupid at this point. We just paid him another large sum of money, might as well keep him around for now. At least he is good at breaking up scuffles by stomping on heads or pushing back entire teams ala

Bruce Allen will look to move this guy. Him and new coach are trying to turn over the team. They just have to talk Snyder into eating the 21 million for this year. Its an uncapped year so it really doesnt matter in that regards. Haynesworth is not going to light it up unless he in a contract year, big spoiled kid in my opinion. Also he is an ass for stomping one of my favorite players for Dallas.

According to Profootballtalk.com the front runner is the Titans…if they do decide to trade him. He doesn’t want to play nose tackle in a 3-4 apparently.
