NOTES: For the second squat session in a row my lower back spazzed up. To the point where I had to cut short the leg pressing as it started to hurt bad, I just layed out in the stretching area for about 10 minutes and it fell fine, Im really gonna have to warm up my lower back more. Oddly it never bothers me when I pull. On another note I got a new wallet today and I cannot stop smelling it…like molly shannon smells her pits!
^I kind of stole that from DJHT, since Im doing 5/3/1 on the last week the last set is a single or more so I did the single plus 1 more…ehhh not a yay moment, but the depth was good…I was happy with it.
As a kid my mom would put fucking moth balls in pantyhose and stick em in my closet I hated that smell fucking disgusting. However my new leather wallet smells like how heaven should smell.

What’s causing the back issue? an old injury? or just an overuse thing?

Thanks Brett…I think I am still crouching foward when getting out of the hole, almost doing a little bit of a good morning when moving up, previously I have tried to use bands to force myself to stay more upright, but it doesent seem to be translating into correcting the issue.
I was reading that my back is giving me issues because Im high bar squatting, Ill be honest I have never really given the bar placement much thought I have always held the bar on my traps. Maybe try low bar squatting will alleviate the issue, but im not sure how confident I will be doing them low bar…

I think you diagnosed yourself right on the squat. If it’s cramping up then I bet that’s because it’s doing too much of the work. I don’t know what you do for a warm up but I find that doing glute activation work like bridges helped me a lot in the past.

Back spasms is no bueno, my friend. Interesting re: the high bar v low bar. I hadn’t realized that you were a high bar squatter! For some reason high bar seems insurmountably harder than low bar, but maybe that’s b/c I just switched to high bar and everything seems hard. lol!

I’m a high bar squatter, even though I try to do low bar. I tried just yesterday lol.
Speaking of squatting yesterday, I’ll tell you what. I squatted with a spaghetti strap shirt yesterday… well later on I noticed this ugly bruise/scar by my traps. Grr! Never again.
I stopped drinking after I turned 30 because the pain was incredible. That and it tends to make me fatlike Orca. Matty, you are strong like bull. May I suggest hack squats for a while to uinload your back?
Masch - FUCK this Gin Entonic guy is effing everywhere! he was with me on friday too! he seemed like my buddies gay lover with all the mouth play they were doing lol. Honestly I didnt pay too much attention to the placement of the bar, I guess I did it automatically because from what I have read high bar squatting allows better depth and low bar allows more weight. Recently with squatting I have been more concerned with form and depth so I lessened the weight to concentrate on that. Leather wallet necklace huh…that sounds like an awesome awesome gift
Nikki - In my 20s I was a big drinker, since hitting 30 I really become a couch potatoe, so when I do go out I dont know how to pace myself and end rolling around in my own vomit…not a good look. Did the low bar feel any different, it looks uncomfortable, did you squat more weight? RE scar on the traps pics please!
Kent - I dont drink that much anymore except for wine…I fucking love a nice Shiraz, or a Merlot, Im bougie like that! Are saying maybe just hack squat for a few weeks to take the place of back squatting, if it is its def something I would consider cuz it acted up today DLing which never happened before.
