Matt Kroc Transitions to Janae Kroc

Salon looooooves them some pedophiles.

But they are a total fringe organization. Not to be taken seriously.

Watch out for those wiley Republicans, though. You never know what they’ll do!

So, if I may summarize, you feel that science is akin to a Pandora’s Box, because scientific discoveries may compel the acceptance of behaviors previously considered immoral. It follows, then, that you must believe certain topics (eg, pedophilia) should be ‘off limits’ for scientific inquiry, lest it be discovered that they have a biological basis, which in turn would put us on that slippery slope to obligatory acceptance. Is that a fair extrapolation of your position?

Likewise, 50 years ago miscegenation and desegregated bathrooms were also considered (by many) to be horrific and morally indefensible.

You are so fake and it is so obvious to all of us. Is this all you have left to work with?

“You’re afraid of SSSSCIIENCE!!!”

Nice one.

The next chapter is well under way.

No it wouldn’t, any more than discovering a biological basis for criminality would lead to its normalization.

I would prefer if you would answer my question directly.

Wow. These Democrats had better watch out, they are attracting the kinds of fringe groups that are going to give them a bad name. I wonder why it is they are attracting these sorts. Some serious soul searching and pandering to the other side must be in order.

I just can’t speak with that level of certainty. As our culture changes and is influenced by others, there is no telling what may be around a corner half a century away.

Who would have imagined the horror of using a nuclear weapon fifty years prior to the actual event? It doesn’t get much worse than vaporizing 300,000 people, but we totally did that.

No doubt, if pedophilia were determined to be innate, groups like NAMBLA would use that fact in support of their attempts to legalize it. Wouldn’t matter one whit.

I guess what it boils down to is, I have more faith (in us, as a society) to differentiate between social mores that should be jettisoned in light of advances in scientific understanding, and those which should be unaffected by such advances.

I would also point out that attempts to muzzle/limit science because one doesn’t like what might be discovered requires opening a Pandora’s Box as well.

Our entire history of literature is populated with allegories of similar theme. It may even be one of the original plots.

No. It’ll never happen. Never ever never.

Text: Very affable.
