Yet another worthless left-wing hollywood actor thinking his opinion is worth a damn thing.
It cracks me up. Really.

Yep. It cracks me up too.
But the part I find scary is that there are people out there who think his opinion is important because he is a famous actor. That’s why politicians fall all over themselves to get endorsements from these self importants nutjobs.
It does seem to be more prevalent on the left too: Affleck, Jolie, Oprah, Nicholson, DiCaprio and the entire cast of the Oceans11 movies!
Bruce Willis is the only self important celebrity nut job I can think of off the top of my head that swings conservative although I am sure there are others.

It’s worth the same as yours. He votes too, you know.
Sorry Matt, but the odds on McCain dying in the next four years are actually 14.4%, according to the US governments mortality tables.
I am surprised that he appears to know what an actuary is, but they are not generally referred to as “the actuary tables”.

Right, because government mortality tables take into account personal medical history.
Damon’s statement about 1 in 3 was stupid, but why combat stupidity with stupidity of your own?
They sold their souls for fame and fortune. Is it any wonder that prostitutes would not like a decent and moral person like Palin?

I’m not famous. I don’t solicit my opinion in exchange for a little face time with the camera.
Maybe he should sit down and shut up - or perhaps, join a bbing site, and lecture us in the political forums.
His opinion is not worthy of a television interview. No one’s is.

He’s just reading from a script. I doubt he could even spell Opie’s middle name.

They are “odds” - they aren’t supposed to incorporate personal medical history, they demonstrate statistical probabilities over a class. There is nothing stupid about quoting the correct odds to remedy Damon’s error.
Swing and a miss.

Over politics, I agree completely, and yet here we all are.

You’re right. My mistake.

I have no camera stuck in my face. I don’t know about you.

I was more referring to the absurd media circus surrounding elections in general. The fact that we(as a nation) are so obsessed with sensationalizing the whole process to the point where we get asshats like Damon or whoever sprouting out their opinions, and actually gaining traction from it. It is absurd.

He gets to spout his opinion on TV with no one to challenge him. Why? Because he’s a fucking actor! Ahaha. And people out there actually listen to him! Ahaha…err…ugh.
RJ on the other hand is just a weird old dude standing on a soapbox in a little known political forum on a bb site. But at least he has a real job, with real issues, and spent a fair chunck of the time in the real world.
But when it comes to worth(?) who do you think will reach a bigger audience and have more of an impact at vote time?
In recent years, have actors and celebrities actually “helped” anyone, except, ironically, the people they were railing AGAINST?
Yes. They may have helped their candidate raise money; but other than that, they seem to have irritated the American electorate more than anything else.

This is what happens when you’re given talking points by some leftwing group and you don’t bother to check them. You end up looking like an ass.
I’ve noticed that the amount of political activism of an actor is inversely proportional to the quality of that actor’s films (Clooney, Damon, etc). Can we name a solid film Damon has done since “Good Will Hunting?”
Nobody’s going to see his movies - time to get his name back out there!

He did an awesome job of portraying himself in Team America.
I actually loved him in all of the “Bourne” movies.
The “Bourne” movies are actually pretty cool…
