Running
Distance: 7 kilometres
Time: 36 minutes and 30 seconds

After runnning I did 5 minutes rest and started BW workout:

Pullups => 12, 10, 6, 8, 6
Dips => 2 x 15, 1 x 10, 1 x 8, 2 x 10
Chinups=> 2 x 10, 8, 5
Hanging leg raises => 5 x 10
Close grip pushups => 2 x 20, 2 x 15, 1 x 10, 1 x 8
Neutral grip pullups => 10, 8, 6

We arrived to Croatia after 14 hours drive in car, so we met our hosts and talked about everything for more than 4 hours. Very kind people. After that we went to beach and then walked along to beach. Yesterday I wanted to do some running, but I was not able to get up from the bed. The sleep was priority.

To the training. After runnig I was totally sweaty and I had no chalk, so my grip was not firm. I was surprised that I did only 6 reps on pullups during 3 rd set, but then I grabbed pullup bar more narrow and it was much better than previous reps.

I think it would be better split days on vacation for run and BW stuff days.

Trip to the Zadar and island Pag, walking through to old city of Zadar, enjoyed the architecture & sea organ. The sea organ is very interesting, it plays music as the waves crush to the stairs with tubes, located underneath the stairs.

After trip we celebrated my birthday from previous day with delicious food at local restaurant. My GF laughed on me, because she never saw me eat pancakes

Again without water like on monday, I struggled on pullups and dips, after that it went well

So that was my last workout in Croatia, we are packing and then traveling home along the croatian coastline.

Last week TM tests

for the next cycle of 5 PRO my TM are …

Front squat => 50 kg, I had to lower my TM, because during TM week test, only managed to 5 strong reps with 55 kg, but I lowered TM because my speed wasnt I was expected

Benchpress => 55 kg

Deadlift => 100 kg, I managed to get 5 reps with 95 kg with good speed

Overhead press => 40 kg, easy 5 reps with 37,5 kg , so I added 2,5 kg to TM

After I returned home from gym, I did slighty upgraded Cosgrove complex

5 rounds of with 30 kg on bar, with exercises in following order
Deadlift > romanian deadlift > barbel rows > power clean > front squat > barbel squat > good morning

Each exercise was done with 8 reps. I removed overhead press after front squat, due previous session at gym.

It took me 17 minutes to finished 5 rounds of complex. Between rounds I rested between 1 min. to 2 min.

I didn’t care about pace, no stitches at rib cage, but I felt my legs were made of stones after 12.5 km, so after I get behind 13 km mark, I stopped running and walked to home. Next time I have to do fewer reps on Goblet squats or running fewer km.

Rest between sets 45 seconds on first sets, then I reduced rest time to 30 seconds between sets. I read about ABC complexes in other logs, so It caught my attention and wanted to try it out. I dont have KB at home, so I just user BB with some plates on it.

Reduced rest to 20 seconds between sets, did approximately 25 sets.

5S PRO - cycle 2 - week 1

I added 2.5 kg for squat, bench, overhead press and 5 kg to deadlift. So my TM for this cycle are: FSQ 52,5 kg / BP 57,5 kg / OP 42,5 kg / DL 105 kg

It was dumb idea to do running and ABC on sunday, when I did squats on monday. Legs were tired and var tried to rolling from shoulders.

In my head I get idea to do ABC complex for 10 minutes and resting only 10 seconds between each set. On the begining I wanted to do complex only for 5 minutes, then I told myself what If I will continue for 1,2,3,4 minutes longer.

I forgot to count sets, I focused to repeat complex again, after I put bar down on the floor after last rep of front squats.

Not able to press bar over my head for 5 reps, but I will not drop weight at this time. If I will be not able to press bar with given reps next time, I will drop weight down.

Lot of things happened on last moth. After I returned from vacation, I took my father to see a doctor because he had some aches at throat, also started loose weight. At beginning he didn’t want to see doctor, but I conviced him and I make an appointment at doctor. His doctor send us to hospital, they performed another examinations and informed us about my father’s malignant tumor at oropharyng in the last stage. We should beginning with chemo on the 5th september. Due to rapid weight loss in couple months, doctors will place PEG probe into his stomach, otherwise with current state of underweight, the therapy will not be effective and there is a potentialy risk, he wont be able to open his mouth to eat food…for his height 170 cm, he weight only 47 kg.

I dont understand, why he didn’t tell me about his problems with throat. If we caught this problem sooner, tumor could be surgically removed…

Next week I will test weights for next anchor cycle. For overhead press I have to lower weights, because I failed on second and third week, when I pressed given weights under 5 reps…

For last two leader cycles of 5 s PRO I changed assistance work from DB to BW stuff on upper body days. I am enjoying this change and really looking forward on every next upper body session. Sometimes dips / pullups are easy, sometimes its hard to do 5 pullups and my body tries to resist, quit, but I am trying to push further.

I did bw squats and pushups for 10 minutes. I did 5 sets of 20 squats followed by 15 pushups. Then I did 40 bw squats and 10 pushups. This mini circuit was done after I get up from bed

Swimming in the pool
Distance: 1525 m

After I hit 50 minutes of swimming, I had to take pause for bathroom, otherwise I would piss in the pool. Maybe some people do this stuff, who knows…

Home workout

Overhead press

I dont have a rack at home, so I had to clean bar first and then I could press the bar. First I thought, it would be impossible to hit even 38 kg, but then I realized it was only block in my head. The last set with 42 kg was my personal battle, It took my about 8 seconds to press bar from the neck level to top position. I stucked above head level, but didn’t want to give it up.

Next week I will start with anchor template . My TM for this cycle will be:

Front squat : 55 kg
Benchpress : 60 kg
Deadlift: 110 kg
Overhead press : 35 kg.

I have to lower my TM for overhead press, becuase I failed two times with given reps / weight scheme.

Had problem with rolling bar from my shoulders again. I am holding bar with straps, its friendly for wrists and you can keep elbows up, but probably elbows drop down and bar rolls from shoulders. If I force myself to drive elbows up, than bar is touching my neck and its hard to breath. Have to figure out. Thinking about drop the weight from the bar and do less sets with more reps.

Although I should have rest today , I decided to go to the gym and I hit PR on deadlift. After I hit 7 th rep, the bar started to roll from my hand, becuase I didn’t grab the bar in the center. After 10 th rep I reset and continue for another 4 reps.
