How often do you take this dose? Or your prescribed dose of 3mg!!! of clonopin? Is it on a daily basis? How old are you?
Not at all often with benzo. I was under stress that day!
Iām happy to hear you donāt use benzos on a regular basis. However 2mg of clonopin can be equated to 40mg of diazepam, which is a hefty dose so this may indeed have something to do with your āperformanceā the day after, given the half-life of clonopin.
From my experience benzos fucked up my libido and turned me into a zombie for a good part of a year. Iām currently weaning and tapering off of them (diazepam to be specific). However no doctor I know would ever prescribe 3mg/day of clonopin unless I had a serious illness that would leave no other option. My advice is to drop the benzos altogether if youāre not dependant on them on a daily basis and find other forms to treat your anxiety. Benzos are the toughest addictive drugs to kick and are, in my opinion, worst than anything your local AAS dealer could sell you. Doctors prescribing them like theyāre tic-tacs make things all the worst.

I see the problem often at patient side, too. You tell them āTake them at most twice a weekā or ācareful, they are highly addictive, only use sparinglyā and they are thinking āit canāt be THAT badā. A few months later they come in every month to get a pack, prescribed by the doctor. Then they say doctors are prescribing too loosely.
Benzos are prescribed often because they are extremely effective at what they do with little downside. The question is if the patient is responsible and uses them sparingly.
On a side note: I donāt know why American doctors seem to prescribe clonazepam that often. In Germany this is nearly never prescribed. Rather Alprazolam/Bromazepam or Z-substances. Maybe American doctors are more irresponsible than German doctors.
I agree with your advice whole heartedly, OP should get off the Benzo completely and ask his doctor to either prescribe a short acting one or a Z-substance or find a mindfulness/natural solution to the problem.

I agree the patient should ultimately always be responsible for what he puts in his body. However my doc never used the phrases you quoted above, but only once murmured āuse as necessaryā. Frankly I received multiple warnings for OTC decongestants both from my doctor and various pharmacists but not once for benzos.
If doctors said ātake them at most twice a weekā and followed that sentence up with āā¦or else itās possible youāll find yourself in a psychotic spiral of paranoia, panic attacks, seizures, dissociation and hallucinations that can last for several weeks or even months that will make you wish you were deadā, 90% of people currently prescribed would opt for a cup of green tea and a walk through the woods instead.
Granted most wonāt experience the same withdrawal symptoms since they are dependant on several factors. Unfortunately, most wonāt find out until they try to quit.

I have never felt the need to see what the average is in healthy men but I wouldāve guessed daily is normal.
Iām not saying all of that. If Iām paying a auto mechanic, I do so because I dont know how to fix it myself and I donāt want to spend the time learning it. I see it the same with medical conditions. One should be able to trust a doctor to make the right decisions and give the right advice, otherwise heās doing his job properly.
Besides diet and exercise, I donāt think you should have to diagnose and treat yourself.
But I do think one should inform oneself as far as it is advices to do (reading a leaflet for example or asking medical personnel for what to watch out).

Iāve taken things that have heightened my libido in the past. If I temporarily cease my use of antidepressants daily to every other day is on the table
