If the rest of the nation on a state by state basis wishes to stick their meddling heads into the health care business they arguably have that power. The federal government does not. Its powers were enumerated in the Constitution. Those powers that were not listed there remain in the hands of the states and the people.

Of course this is absolutely correct, but it’s been quite a while since most politicians gave a shit about our constitution and the fact that it was supposed to form the framework through which all of our governmental functions were to be interpreted and enforced. That whole outdated “nation of laws” thing.
