bar stayed over your midfoot where it is in a balanced position.
i think (my hypothesis is) the forward lean resulted from your sitting back… and the reason you sat your butt back is because your knees couldn’t come forwards anymore because your dorsiflexion was restricted because you didn’t have your oly shoes on.
you could maybe get a little less forward lean by having a slightly wider stance (knees can go out more). but i’m not sure that it matters so much. depends what you are trying to do by squatting barefoot i guess. wish i could do it without going sumo sigh.

Anyways, its 12months post-surgery! Not 12 months from today…
What’s up with your groin? chirp[/quote]
Oh good. Thats not too bad then.
Thanks for the videos. Sexy and strong as. Im looking foward to watching your progress. Do you do any overhead lifting?
Regarding my groin; yer it sucks, but its slowly getting better and hopefully I can start running soon. The boys have just started preseason training, so I presume I will be joining them in maybe 3-4 weeks, although I might be moving town and hence starting at a new team…
Anyway, I think you should make the chirp more of a permanent thing. You should add it to the end of every post you make. T-Nation will love it! LOL!
Lifts look good. I wouldn’t worry about forward lean as much as keeping your back flat and not raising with your hips first. I didn’t see problems with either of those areas and you did a great job of dumping the bar when you had to.
DLs looked good. Are you more comfortable with sumo or conventional style? Why do you drop the bar on deads like that?
Dig the new av. I think the performance shots are always cool.
I think I had an entire conversation with you in my head…where’s my last post?
I’m having trouble balancing all my stuff too. Your schedule looks good. Curious. When are you doing your pullups? Your sticking with them right?
Also, your starting numbers are great. Lifts look awesome. I’m really excited to see how training for strength treats you. It’s perfect for getting ready for soccer. Getting stronger will make you faster, more resiliant, more bullet proof. I think this additional time and how you’ve chosen to use it (although it sucks) is really going to benefit you in the long run.
edit: I’m becoming a pullup/ running nazi. But it’s not propoganda I tell you. PUllups and running are awesome!
Everything I could mention on your lifts has been mentioned. Matty nailed it on the bench press and pressing “towards your feet”, I noticed that too. You can also line yourself up a little further back on the bench, so you have less distance to bring the bar out.
Squats are DEEP. Def won’t get redlighted on that, haha. Forward lean isn’t an issue unless your chest caves and upper back rounds, which it didn’t appear to be doing. Good stuff.
Deads, seriously, damn near perfect. I like your setup, how you start with your shoulders in front of the bar and as you lean back into it your position is perfect right as you start to pull.
Damn your triceratops (thanks Pixie) looked jacked at the top of your deadlift. Can I see s’more please? I have a tricep fetish, biceps are overrated for me.
Sorry to hear that you have to wait until 12 months post op. Better safe than sorry I guess - the waiting still sucks though especially when that carrot keeps getting closer and closer. That is what my surgeon is suggesting too, but my sports season doesn’t start until the fall which puts me at 13 months anyway.
I’m going to chime in and say I don’t think theres an issue with your fold over but if it concerns you the general theory seems to be to strengthen the abs.
pulls looked great
Matty nailed it on your bench-
but shhhh I dont really bench
squats- I think if you just think chest up- you are there
would you believe I have been thinking about sheiko too?
