E-hugs yo.
Damn, that’s so frustrating. But better safe than sorry. Keep up with the training - maybe find another sport to focus on for the moment. Injuries have a nasty habit of becoming permanent if you don’t give 'em time to heal.
I came here with a big pep talk but now all I can imagine is licking nutella off of those hawt abs of yours.
Sssslurrrrrrrrrpppppp.
awesome pullups and killer pistols.
All the best for 2012 ma jolie, sending healing thoughts your way, patience is not an easy trait to cultivate for a firecracker.
xx
hey sister-
rough news about playing

Brilliantly stated.
Masch-y, I’m sure this speed bump will just add fuel to that fire in your belly. I’d hate to be playing against you when you get back. Look out!
No soccer? Oh, I am so sad to hear that. You are taking it well, considering how important this is to you.
So, now you have the opportunity to focus on something else. The doc said no twisting and pivoting, and it would be really stupid of you to go right ahead and twist and pivot. How about training for a 10K or half marathon? No twisting/pivoting. Or a powerlifting meet? Also meets the criteria. Or enter a figure comp – you know you are hot enough.
It sucks to have to take those shitty lemons and make lemonade when you aren’t in the mood for lemonade. But here we are.
cuddles
I’m sorry to hear about the finger waving from the doctor. It’s hard not to get impatient and start pushing before everything is ready. Modify your training to stay in line with the doc’s orders and push on!
aww man…that sucks Masch :{
My heart seeps a bit for you
BIG BRUTE HUGS, BIGGGGGGG BRUTIE HUGS!!!
Brutiful!!! Fret not!! I’m ok. Look at my avi!! I’m “power lifting” ![]()
But I’ll take those hugs!! I’ll take them from all of you! So thanks so much guys for sending me your positive, weight lifting vibes. I’m inspired!
Anyways, yes, it does suck that I can’t play soccer, but at this rate I should just listen to the doc. I’d be foolish not too!
However…
I am in the middle of re-writing my training. AND I’m currently testing out my 1RM on the big 3. I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far! I wanted 105 on bench, got 115. I wanted 145 on squat got a highish 160. Gonna test DL on Sat. Got new cues too on the DL, so I’m stoked!
And with that I’m thinking of running a 12 week PLing cycle, just to see how much I can add to my max. Prob just going to do a linear thing from 6 to 321 over the 12 weeks. Inky mentioned sheiko, which I’m going to read up on, so if anyone has any other recs I’m totally open to them!
Anywho, I’ll update more as more interesting things occur!!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!! Catch up with y’alls soon ![]()
Maschy,
I’m sorry to hear about your soccer setback. But it will be better in the long run.
Keep up all the hard training and you will be the BOSS when you get back to playing!
Masch + PLing = Y A H T Z E E !
Im running Star’s Intermediate 5x5 or Madcow or whatever its called, I really like it and have gotten some good gains from it. Yeah I tweaked it a bit (ok ok maybe more than a bit) but I still keep the linear progress of the main lifts…
12 months?? Bullshit. I say give it another 6 months and you should be good to twist and turn. Maybe check for a second opinion, but I suppose this was the guy that did the work on your pretty knee.
I feel your frustration Maschy, my own groin injury is taking about an extra 8 weeks more than what I expected for a full recovery. I would still reccommend keeping in touch with your skills. Working on your ball skills by yourself wont be as stressful on the knee as playing a competitive game.

Going for some big numbers, eh?
That is COOL.
This will be fun to watch.

Lol! “big numbers.” You’re cute. Not sure how big my numbers will get. It’ll really be a testament to the program that I decide to run…
But I’m hoping to add 15 onto bench and I’d be happy if I can add 30 to squat. Not sure on the DL yet, but I mean, 50 would be nice, like strangle puppies nice. Does that sound like a lot?
Busy, thanks buddy!
Lol Matty! YATZEE! Starr’s 5x5 and/or Madcow. Check! Will also look into these. Thanks, bro!
Also, I wonder on the accessories - I figure I’m going to have to really optimize these to support my lifts in this short period of time. I’m only planning on lifting 3x a week (or should I do 4!!!), so I’m thinking to do the accessories full body. Def need to tighten up my low back, but I have yet to identify what else needs to be strengthened. Gotta get my vids up and form checked out…
To be continued!
Happy Thursday everyone!

OK, fine. “Bigger” numbers ![]()
Squat +30
Bench +15
DL +50
Let’s do it!
You’re not going to like this but it seems what you may wanna try is Wendler’s. Not to mention plenty of accessory work depending on what program you choose. Why spend all that time creating your own program when it is rt here in front of you? Will also cut your time down in the gym & allow for you to do other things in your bombastic life.
Ass looks great!

HAHA! Love how you say, “you’re not going to like this” ![]()
And no offense to Wendler, but I’m pretty sure the program HE created was based on the same principles of what I’m basing my non-Wendler program on. Just sayin’
Decline in readership in 3…2…
Anyways, like I said, I’m open to it! So thank you kindly, big dog.
And yeah, squatting low-bar makes my ass look big!!
And FTR, I’m not sure my squat form is all that great in my avi, lol. But I’m sick of seeing my scantily clad self. Yeesh! Put on some clothes, Masch!
Git, Let’s do it!
