Hang clean means you don’t start the pull from the floor. You basically deadlift it up then reset so the bar is just above your knees then do a clean. It can either be a hang power clean or a hang squat clean.

The difference is what position you end up in when the bar lands on your shoulders. Power clean means your legs are still above parallel when you land. Squat clean means you’re basically focusing on pulling yourself under the bar and end up in an ass to ground position then have to front squat up.

He’s also a NYer, so I got a special kind of love for him. Matty, Pixie is “thrower” - she throws crazy heavy objects across fields while wearing a kilt!! Its super badass, and kinda hot. She’s also rehabbing a bum knee and doing an awesome job of it. Now, who needs a drink?! :slight_smile:

And yes Pixie, great explanation!! I tend to do full cleans because that’s how I learned them. But powercleans are exceptional! Matty, I’d totally recommend you do them! And vids of course will be required!

I had a great time training for them (despite my constant bitching and moaning). And overall I’m pleased with my performance. I did nearly double my max in 2 months. And that’s great! There’s a lot of woulda, coulda, shouldas, but hey, that’s life. So its all good :slight_smile:

And just for the record, I weighed myself after the pullups and I was clocking in at 131 - lololol! I seriously don’t even want to know what I would have to do to get down to 127. Oh man…
