Masch Needs a New Log

i think you look great, too, but i do understand that you feel soft compared to how you are used to feeling. glad to hear that your rehab is coming along. you are doing a wonderful job with it. sucks when things that used to be super easy are really very hard.

Bird cage??? Sorry I was distracted by the… definition… on your chest…

UGH! I can’t even…[/quote]

Ugh Masch!! I want that ass!! No, really I want to have an ass like that  That’s what I meant hehe. I know… I disappeared again, but shit I always have to come back and check on you and make sure you’re doing awesome as usual! Ima send you an email… Keep up the good work, girl!!!

Tamale!!! I’ve missed you mamacita! Thanks for checking in, girlie. And I want your ass! To like, pinch and stuff, and parade around the pool for free mojitos. I hope you don’t mind! Also, I love your avi and your lil’ girl scout outfit. I see you’re still up to no good

Lol! Busy and birdman, the “birdcage” is actually something my mother used to call the unsightly chest bones that you can see on a woman when she’s an reached malibu 40 standards. In Argentina, this “birdcage” normally has two giant silicone melons afixed to it - in my case, not so much. Still, looks like a washboard though. ew.

Git, Doc, Andy, lex - Thanks guyz  You’re the bestest.

Also, I just want to say that last night I dreamt that I was able to squat ATG. lol! I was testing out my ROM and just kept getting lower and lower and I looked over at whoever was beside me and said “look! it doesn’t even hurt!” And then the the night before I dreamt that I was in a warehouse full of candy and cookies and I was eating all these chocolate covered delectables, and macaroons dipped in chocolate and other italian cookies! And then last night, in real life, I ate tons and tons of chocolate covered pretzels and spumoni! I like these self-fulfilling profecies

Off to check out the menz logs now, then time for rehab

Have a great weekend everyone!!

awesome gun show!

I predict that 4 weeks back into a lifting program you’ll be complaining that you’re getting big again  Just think of those muscles as resting for now, all they need is a little blood pumping in the future.

I think with Maschy in her rehab knee brace state I could catch and nom her more easily.

OH HAI maschy!

Masch: It hurts me to see you sidelined. But at least you’re squatting in your dreams–definitely a prophecy–one that you will self-fulfill. Hang in there. You’ll be back soon. I know. I get to watch my husband train with his repaired ACL. He’s getting prs squatting and dling, flipping tires, pushing prowlers, coaching basketball…

Well hot mama pinch away! And yes, it shouldn’t be a problem getting those free mojitos with your hot ass around, even if you’re in rehab knee form  The mojitos will help you walk more comfortably, or at the very least, we can get our hot cabana boy to carry you around while you sip that refreshing drink, catch a buzz, and flirt with the local yummy hotties  So just let me know when we’re gonna do that!! And thanks… hehe it’s actually a Corrections Officer outfit, but thanks for the idea of the girl scout one!! It comes with handcuffs… so yeah I"m still up to all kinds of good stuff!! Btw, I LOVE chocolate macaroons, and basically anything with chocolate!! So you see, I love you for all kinds of reasons!! xoxo Still gonna send you an email so we can catch up… prob get a chance tomorrow  Have a great Sunday!!

Umm…no, no, we wouldn’t want that…?

Hi loverlies! Thanks for checking in.

I’m here creepin’ the forum and following along on everyone’s hard work. I won’t lie, its still a bit hard for me to read and comment because I’m easily embittered about all the things that I can’t do compared to that of my sisters (I’m like the Jan Brady of PW!) and the last thing I want to do is infest this place with any negativity. I’m a spoiled sport. Lol! Always have been.

At any rate, I will take this time to give you guys a little update.

Friday marked 4 weeks post-op and things are starting to feel a better

Week 4 post-op:

  • Whimpering and crying due to manual manipulation of extension and flexion still occurs. On the upside, the tears are mostly due to the fact that they’re trying to increase my flexion beyond what I can already do on my own which is around 120 degrees. Extension is still a bitch - the new ACL is like a Stretch Armstrong doll.

  • On Thursday the PT lady told me I could start weaning myself off the brace - which I interpreted as, “stop using the brace.” It didn’t take me a hot second to take that bitch off. I was a bit nervous walking around without the brace the first day, and I used my cane and took the brace with me to work. HAH! But in the end I was victorious! The knee gets cranky and the quad gets tired fairly quickly - that’s when I start walking with a limp and this is not good. I have to push myself to walk naturally, even through some pain, but its worth it. I really want my leg to start remembering its job.

Its pretty amusing actually, as I have to stop every few blocks to stretch my leg and do some hamstring curls. lol! PT breaks, I call them.

I also started walking up stairs in the “normal” way - this isn’t part of my PT, but I figured if I can do it, I should try. Takes me forever to get up a flight and going down stairs is still a no-no.

  • Been consistent with the home rehab, working the extension and flexion, icing, massaging, taking my Tumeric (I put a gram or two with my protein in the morning, its like an ethnic milk shake!).

  • I’ve increased my other non-rehab exercises. It takes motivation to want to do anything more than I’m prescribed, but I’m still working the resistance bands, started some ab-work and the other day I did 3x5 BW neutral grip pullups. Not too shabby!

So of my goals I had set forth:

  • No brace by week 4 - check!
  • Pilates by week 4 - going to my first class in a few hours
  • Puerto Rico trip with no brace - I foresee success! I’ll bring the brace and cane with me though, just in case.

And that’s about it.

I’m going to be posting sporadically, so consider this a bit of a resignation of sorts - but i’ll be hanging around.

In terms of training, here are my goals and expectations:

  • Jogging 3 months post op
  • Start lifting 3 months post op (squatting, Dling and general upper body)
  • Begin ball work by fall-winter (just juggling and skill work)
  • Increased agility and mobility work by winter
  • Start Oly lifting by spring 2012
  • Join team practices for soccer drills by spring (probably won’t join in for any game play)
  • Summer 2012 I’ll focus on cardiovascular health, sprinting, agility work and general soccer prep (maybe a tourney if I’m feeling confident)
  • Play on soccer team Fall 2012!

I’ve had a lot of people tell me “you won’t play soccer again” and this just encourages me to work harder and get stronger. So suck that nay-sayers! Hopefully by the time I’m logging again, i’ll have more to say about this

And that’s about it folks!

I’m leaving this week for Puerto Rico where I will most likely drown myself in rum cocktails - azucar!!

Till then, in the words of our beautiful tiny freak, keep on keepin’ on!

Lots of love to you all! Grip and rip, bitches!
