I agree it would be asinine to talk about steroid use over facebook, or even set your FB account to allow non-friends to view your profile.

My guess is he is talking about your 1000 posts in the steroid forum where you openly admit
to purchasing and using. He is also probably not talking about legal issues
but more like potential future employers doing some sort of background search
and finding numerous posts where you admit to breaking the law…just saying.

Sure, on Facebook. But his real name is not posted on this site (to my knowledge). With the hundreds of bodybuilding sites out there, how could an employer possibly find his posts?
Find whose? I am speaking generally…since I already know it is pointless in debating that topic with some of you.
However, I grew up with the internet just like many other employers have at this point. I can do a search faster than most and connect the dots from facebook to other sites based on interests…not to mention you would assume your future employer doesn’t have some of the same interest in some of the same sites.
If you’ve been on tv, have your face very visible or other issues, you simply make it easier.
I mean, you live in a day and age where all someone needs is your name and they can find your address, locations to your house and how much you paid for it.
Mind you, I had a friend/co-worker do that a few weeks back. He walks up to me with these papers of how much I spent on my house and my address (he never went to my house) and asks if I filed for homestead.
I think some of you underestimate the internet and the people who use it today…and the ease of piecing this together is growing with every passing day.
Seems a tad bit hypocritical that so many are making fun of Marzouk’s progress but a couple people make fun of a guy’s progress (that isn’t even a member of this forum) because he does Zerchers and gets flamed.

I happen to have called you both dicks. Just callin em like I see em. The real problem arises from the reaction to being called a dick.
(This post is heavily sarcastic)

People need to remember it’s just the internet. I read and take in what I find useful, try to help where I can in the training forums, and goof the fuck off in the rest of it. I had a hard time in the beginners section helpfully responding to dumb questions, so I stopped posting there.
Why bitch and moan about a forum that you can literally turn off. Go to your hub and block the ones you don’t like. Problem solved.

lol 1000 posts in the steroid section? nope. Yes, I’m sure an employer will be sure to search every bodybuilding website possible searching for my face and then he can search my posts and decide if he wants to hire me or not. I’m sure they have time for this. I’m glad you care so much about me. In fact! I’ve been recently kicked out of college (My dean saw my posts on here about drugs and expelled me) and fired from my job for the same reason. Lifes a bitch ![]()
You old people are delusional.
The 1000 number was obviously an exaggeration. Sure it might take a little bit of sleuthing
but if you ever aspire to have a real job that doesn’t require checking IDs and for which you will make more than 10 dollars an hour, people may just put the effort in to do such things.
Why take the chance? It doesn’t make any sense as eventually your life may evolve to the point where you have other responsibilities other than deciding whether your squat workout will consist of 5 sets of 10 or 10 sets of 5.
And to set the record straight I could not care less about you…you just remind me of all the twenty somethings checking facebook on their iphone while I lecture who then bitch after the exam about how I gave exam questions on things that I didn’t cover in class when in fact they were too busy reading a wall post about how somebody took a monstrous dump this morning.

Isn’t the difference being that the Marzouk is attempting to ‘bodybuild’ while not making any significant progress (he has been lifting ‘on again/off again’ for about eight years) while the other dude is involved in power lifting and accomplished what many strength athletes consider to be a respectable feat?
From Marzouk’s progress thread:
Maiden3.16 wrote:
You started the thread off saying you are at 25% bodyfat, and three months later you say you are still at around 25% bodyfat.

Marzouk wrote:

…then, after contributing basically nothing of note to the forum and not even having built a decent enough physique to warrant any attention, decides that he is of enough importance to do anything more than just slink away and stop posting.
I’m sure most people are ragging on him because of ^ rather than shitting on him for a lack of progress for no other reason.
As far as ‘employers searching every bodybuilding site for your name and then scouring your post history, etc’… an interesting thing to make note of is that Facebook is (has?) incorporating a feature that allows ‘auto-tagging’ of individuals in photos based off of facial recognition software.
Google has (had?) also added a ‘tineye’ feature to their image search; i.e., it allows one to upload/input specific images into the search engine and scour the interwebz for all instances of that image being present.
Is it really a stretch to imagine these two worlds colliding at some point in the future?
Not that I really give a shit about what other people do in their spare time. It’s more of a possibility than a certainty.

Don’t mistake my post for all out concern. I just find it curious that people can rag on this guy but not that guy. You can justify it all you want but you can’t shine shit.
The zercher guy in the video didn’t have a good build - dare I say didn’t look like he worked out. How many other times has this popped up on this website? Oh wait, Marzouk - doesn’t look like he worked out.

Exactly. If the issue is that talking bad about someone is now so despicable that it deserves the attention it just did where we get called out in TWO THREADS over it even after an apology…for a guy who doesn’t even post here…then how the fuck do you justify allowing people to talk shit about an actual poster here?
Oh wait, there are qualifiers.
LOL.

Attempting to shine shit seems like a bigger waste of my time than comparing apples and oranges, so let’s just admit we are doing the latter.
One (Marzouk) was a body builder who didn’t look like he lifted.
The other didn’t give a shit about size and lifted for strength… accomplishing something many would admit is respectable.
One of the above was actually accomplishing their goals and getting a few head nods in the process. The other was wasting his time and expecting a teary-eyed farewell with his departure from a website that no one in the real world would ever guess he visited.

Can we just get an I Hate X thread and have it stickied??
I mean, I’m not a huge fan of Stronghand or Whiteflush (see what I did there- ha ha) but I don’t run around trying to crap on everything they post. I don’t need to analyze every word and try to find multiple meanings from their posts. I could give a shit.

I think the difference is that with the other thread you were called on it because your commentary, while ‘accurate’ to a degree (he wasn’t very big), completely missed the point that his lack of size was a conscious decision.
Why bother ripping on someone for something that he not only isn’t working to improve, but may also be detrimental to the activity he has (successfully) chosen to pursue?
One of the two people in question was a failure as far as reaching their goals was concerned. Why shit on the one who is successful?

Yeah, but the other guy’s goal wasn’t to have a “good build”, it was to be strong. He explicitly stated that. He achieved a 400 lb zercher. Goal was to be strong: Mission accomplished. If someone’s explicitly stated goal and purpose for lifting weights isn’t “to have a nice build”, then how and why are you basing your judgment of whether or not he’s made progress on a criterion that is wholly irrelevant to his stated goal and purpose?
If I show up wanting to improve my 100m, are you going to rag on me because of my poor shotput abilities? Not everyone on this site is a bodybuilder and this isn’t the bodybuilding section, so I don’t know why you guys keep insisting on using bodybuilding metrics to judge what’s impressive and what’s not.

You may want to think about the hole you are digging…because unless everyone else involved can prove their own magnificent progress, what is the point? i would venture that most here are NOT reaching their goals or anything close. Hell, look at the Indigo Lab.
Why would you care other than to help someone if they need it if you are so morally above what you are against?

Apple also has facial recognition software built into iPhoto now. Facebook and iPhoto’s facial recognition programs right now are pretty limited though and can’t recognize you if you’re wearing sunglasses, have your head at an extreme angle, etc.
I’m sure these things will become more and more powerful, though, and the images are out there practically forever once they’re online.
we should quit arguing about this shit, and invade Canada.
I doubt if they’d put up much resistance. We could install a puppet government with Justin Beiber as Prime Minister, and enslave all the hot chicks.
the rest, we’ll let fend for themselves.
and tax the shit out of them.
I think this would work for a while.

Well, while I admit that if someone is going to start talking shit about another posters lack of progress, he should first prove that he, himself, has accomplished something in that field. Totally agree with that.
But that isn’t to say he can’t call a spade a spade. Marzouk clearly made little to no progress over the past eight years. You don’t need to be Arnie to point out the obvious.
It’s not like Marzouk was clearly busting his balls to get better, either.
And I’m not morally above a good chop busting… just offering my shoddy, rash, possibly hypocritical opinion on a lazy Tuesday afternoon.
