Marvels: The Avengers (Trailer)

Trailer looks cool, but they are underplaying Thor’s abilities. Iron Man would get his shit pushed in Dark Ninja style if he tried to fight Thor. Trailer seems to be a little focused on Iron Douche.

The movie had better get it right when it comes out.

When I was 7 I saw Superman II and to me it was the perfect movie. A couple of years later my buddy and I watched the hell out of it on VHS.

It was like someone had licked a comic book and slapped it up on the silver screen.

Now I’m 38 and think that Superman II is going too look like Ordinary People next to this. It should be good going by how much I liked all the Marvel movies that led up to this.
I mean every second of this movie should be a thrill.

Hey, I wonder what the after-credits scene will be?

Ultron.

Not to debate IM vs Thor BUT RDJ is the biggest billed actor in the cast and the most accomplished which maybe why scriptwriters tweaked it so i.e. good dialogue, cooler scenes, better punchlines etc.

If they underplay Cap and Thor just to appeal to Iron Man fans, then I’ll be disappointed. I don’t want Iron Man becoming the new Wolverine.

Fair enough. Or Avengers becoming Iron Man 3.

The most likely explanation for the friction is that Fury gives Cap leadership of the Avengers and certain egos get bruised.

Ultron.

Ultron was created by Ant-Man and since he isn’t in the film I say Skrulls or Agent Coulson as Captain Marvel; or even Loki talking to people out off screen “blah blah blah… they may have their Avengers but I have my the Masters of Evil” screen pans out to reveal Abomination, Red Skull, and a very much alive Mickey Rourke in a new Crimson Dynamo armor

When they do Iron Man 3 I’d love to see Armor Wars, too bad in the first movie Tony revealed his identity. One of the plot parts of that storyline(second only to the Captain as the best Marvel arc of the 80’s), is after going nuts finding out his tech has been stolen Tony fights villians with armor and a SHEILD agent named Stingray(who he fucks up bad) it’s just Stingray never used Stark Tech for his armor.

This pisses off the government and Tony “fires” Iron Man as his bodygaurd. It has been rumored that there will be an underwater scene in the IM3 so there’s that or maybe even Namor

Wol, I’m going to appeal to your geek side now: Stark was the first superhero to emerge in the real Marvel movie universe (Thor was a myth, Cap was lost in time). He is one of the most powerful men in the world, heir to one of the biggest businesses in history, always a cheeseburger away from a press conference, and politically untouchable. He is also the ultimate celebrity: Arnie crossed with Bill Gates. Thor is on probation, but that doesn’t stop Stark, as one of the most recognizable faces on the planet, from busting his or Loki’s balls. They’re used to peasants bowing down to them, but Stark is a god in his own mind.

Thor can’t match egos with Stark after Odin’s lesson in character building; Cap hates bullies and will probably compare Tony unfavorably with Howard Stark. Whedon said that he treats every character he writes as a lead even if he kills 'em off…

I trust him to make this an epic.

I mean, he wrote comics for Marvel and now he’s writing and directing a Marvel movie. He has a proven track record in both mediums. He’s no Frank Miller.

Either way…Whedon, plus 2012 CGI effects, plus great Iron Man I, decent Thor and decent Cap America…and missed pretty fucking ok Hulk 2…equals buying tickets early and possibly waiting in line for once.

I definitely think this is a possibility…unfortunately…I read an article back when news of this movie first broke that stated the opinion that they were probably going to make Iron Man the leader of the Avengers because making Cap the leader could hurt oversea sales…that, plus RDJ being top billed, plus Iron Man’s big fan base right now, could very easily lead to others being underplayed…

They said the same thing about the solo Cap movie. At one point, they were considering just going with The First Avenger as title and dropping the Captain America for release outside of the US (It was felt that the patriotic name would put viewers off) Never happened though.

Something Stark said in the trailer suggests that he is left on the sidelines initially: “I thought I didn’t qualify. Apparently I’m -what is it? - volatile, self-obsessed and don’t play well with others”…

I agree.

If I could send one movie back in time to myself age 10 it would likely be this. Ten years ago I would have expected it to be Star Wars Episode I…but no.

End of Iron Man 2 - he was rejected for the Avengers.

^ Thanks. I’d lost interest by the robot army.

And if Whedon and Marvel studios play this correctly, Iron Douche gets put in his place by Thor, Cap, and Loki. Cap had better lead and Thor had better display his Godly prowess. Just like the comics.

Pretty cool recreation of the Avengers trailer using the Marvel '60’s cartoon only thing the creater did do was use the Nick Fury from the 90’s Spider-Man
