I live in Taiwan and it comes out today, Wednesday.
I guess to beat pirates the Marvel movies all seem to comeout a week or two earlier here.

I’ll be seeing it in 2D too! Thank God!

3D movies aren’t even three dimensional anyway…at best they could be called Embossed…and the rest of the movie looks dark because the glasses are tinted! SHit!
Just saw it. Loved it. Want to see it again.

I’ve now seen it!

Some SPOILERY stuff, so beware!

I SAID SPOILERY STUFF COMING UP!

First: Do not envy me for having seen it…I’ve seen it so now must envy you that have yet to.

That may be a little strong but the movie was very good.

It started a little slow, in that the first 45 minutes is the assembling of the team, but there’s such great interactions between all the characters (and in so many combinations) that it’s still great to watch.

Who needs to see a comedy movie when action movies like this provide so many times where you laugh so hard you get a bit of a headache? I mean there’s parts where you laugh because of something so cool if you know what I mean. (I don’t want to ruin anything but Hulk provides at least three of these incredible laughs in the movie)
Also the Hulk looked great. I like the way he looks more like the Ang Lee version as we all know, but you get to see his face a bit more in this movie and it’s very well done. They also power him back up to the Ang Lee movie level as I think he didn’t seem to be as strong in the Ed Norton movie.

I also think that they DIDN’T show all the stuff in the trailer! Nice! Most all of the trailer stuff is from the big final battle in Manhattan. There were lots of great scenes before that, though the movie doesn’t really have a huge action scene except for the huge one at the end. Not that there isn’t action, but it consists of Iron Man VS Thor and Hulk VS Thor and if you wanted to see Mjolnir strike Cap’s shield you get it and if you want to see Hulk try to pick up Mjolnir you get that too.

The end battle scene is great in that it seems well-orchestrated and not just a huge Goddamned mess like the end of Transformers (ALL of them!) and it goes on the for the appropriate amount of time…not insanely mind-numbingly drawn out and not over in 5 minutes. Just great ( and I base all final battles against Superman II’s which I saw in the theater at age 8.

It’s even nice that they don’t make you wait till the end of the entire credits to give you the post-credits scene…you just need to wait till they list the main characters.

I never read the Avengers comic book growing up but my buddy that came with me did and he said it was very true to the comics in many ways.
One thing is that for some people it may be awkward to see Iron Man in a movie with Norse gods and a big green guy and all that but they crack the right jokes to let you settle in and accept it all. I don’t want to give jokes away as they’re so good.

I think Black Widow got a tad too much screen time. Sure she’s pretty, but her and Hawkeye, in my opinion, should have been told to stay on the flying fortress during the big battle, what I mean is I got a bit of that feeling like in the Transformers when Sam is running around with buildings collapsing everywhere and they don’t get hurt.So you feel like they could have given a minute or two more to Captain America or Hulk in the final battle and not Hawkeye ( I really don’t even know who he is…I think from just being a geek like I am that he wears a purple owl mask in the comics) or Black Widow. The general public do not know who they are either. Though they of course know Scarlett Johanssen.

Films come on Wednesdays here in Egypt.

The Avengers comes out on May 3rd which is thursday next week. Fingers crossed it comes out on May 2nd over here.

If your bragging is of the scale what’s mine? heh heh

But really, it’s better to be in a state of not having seen it. I’d love to see it again the first time.

By the way, here’s a funny clip I found of Samuel L. Jackson saying you should partake in “weed” ( I believe it’s an inner-city slang word for cannabis, which apparently when smoked like a common cigarette provides a “high”)

Its already out in Taiwan? I hope u stayed till after the credits, i hear theres a suprise?

The after-credits thing is right after they show the main character’s names in the credits…so you don’t have to wait until they tell you the caterer and who did the caterer’s makeup and all that shit.

SPOILERS

it’s Thanos

Trust me… I waited till the end anyway.

Sweet, cant wait till next week!

I do, even though I’m not American, think it’s a little strange that I get to see the movie this early.
I mean that considering it’s an American movie financed by Americans, featuring American actors and starring Captain America.

Are we moving to fast for you Tdub?
To make sense of it, you assume he’s talking about The Raid. Assumptions make an ass out of yourself. Then again, I did also assume that he was talking about Avengers, so…

edit: you guys just got me even more psyched to see this. Cinco de Mayo, Avengers and drunkenness ftw.

Your pirating reasoning makes sense. My ex, who lives in Brazil, said she saw Iron Man 2 a good week or 2 before it came out here and pirating is pretty big down there. On the flip side, all 3 times I went to visit her, we watched a movie down there that had already come out and become old news up here. 2 examples: the first Sherlock Holmes and the Dark Knight. I don’t remember all the ones we saw, we went to a couple movies each time I visited. So it may just be Marvel that does that.

yeah that happens here, Insidious only just came out here and My bloody valentine came out about 12 months ago here, its a fucking 3 yr old film! Same with the time travellers wife, on the flip side battleship has been out here for 2 weeks and it comes out in the US on May 13th or something

Not sure if this has been posted yet.

Seen it today. I thought it was brilliant. I’m not even into these movies so much.

Probably the best cinema experience I’ve had since Terminator 2

Saw it today, greatly impressed me cause I had such low expectations after cpt. america.

Actually made me enjoy each character more than their individual movie plus it had the hulk doing what we finally have always wanted to see him do, rag doll the fuck out of people

that was an amazing film

few of the hulk moments were disgustingly awesome!
