early reviews are in, so far The Avengers are getting 96% positive on RottenTomatoes.com…
Superman is going to have a high bar to leap over after this.

I am sure it will be a limbo contest.

I don;t know why these two are fighting but this scene is still great.
I know this sounds silly but I swear that this movie looks like it can simply do no wrong. It may the most fun I’ve ever had in a theater other than Highlander 2 (but that had nothing to do with the movie).
I wish the Star Wars prequels were this good…like they should have been!

Related to that clip, anybody else notice that the portals to and from Asgard, the power surge from the Cosmic Cube and the giant arc reactor explosion in IM are virtually identical?
Interesting how Stark gets a power-up from Thor’s lightning. Seems like Stark has somehow tapped into Asgard’s energy supply with the AR.

Atlanteans actually Loki’s army??? That big dragon thing could be a sea monster and rumors are Namor is in Iron Man 3[/quote]
Iron Man 3 will be based on the Extremis story line. Shane Black said some time ago that the villains would reflect the emphasis on the industrial espionage angle (which I feel that the previous movies never fully took advantage of).
There’s also been mention of Stark “being back in the cave” metaphorically speaking, which fits with the direction they’re taking. If Stark was stripped of everything like he was in IM (“back in the cave”), and was forced to rebuild his armor using different materials, then it would lead to the development of the Extremis tech.

Extremis reads like a movie. It’s already been story boarded for them. If they flesh it out with any half decent writers it will be worth watching.

- Avengers is gonna be amazing.
- Thor’s a God. Stop it, Roy!
- I’m gonna buy my ticket this week.
Geek bonus: the latest trailer for TDKR is supposed to play before Avengers.

Lets see if Wol catches that.
I just want to say that I’ll be seeing this tomorrow afternoon.

Forgot earlier, Thor’s mom is Gaea, who is a god. So he’s a god because of his mom, not because he’s Asgardian. Or rather a demi-god, I guess. If anyone actually pays attention to my geek rants about Asgardians not actually being gods anyway.

I live in Taiwan and it comes out today, Wednesday.
I guess to beat pirates the Marvel movies all seem to comeout a week or two earlier here.
I’ll be seeing it in 2D too! Thank God!
3D movies aren’t even three dimensional anyway…at best they could be called Embossed…and the rest of the movie looks dark because the glasses are tinted! SHit!
