Me thinks Fragile is pulling some legs here.
But that’s just me. ;-))

Fragile, So what you are saying is that if you have been waiting for 3 years to see this movie and someone posted that the day before you saw it you wouldn’t be pissed? i think you would. Come on man look at it from the other side. You said it yourself, you saw a sneek preview before the movie even came out. You mentioned it in passing like everyone knew. Major disapointment.
Awright, I’ll just post this so that Fragile can wipe that evil grin off his face.
**In the TIME pieces, Reeves said, the first MATRIX film was ?about birth. The second is life, the third is death.?
There, now everyone: take a deep breath and relax.
Its just a friggen movie, cmon people.
Fragile you sheethead! I was pissed when I read your post this morning now you tell us the exacte part where she dies! I’m staying away from this thread until I see the movie otherwise fragile will have told the whole f-n movie. “The Fragile”…more like “The Retarded”. You earn a dick punch!!! Pow pow pow!!! ![]()
Ahhhhhhhhhhh hahaha a dick punch now that is funny. lol ![]()
great fucking movie. I thought the ending was kinda weak as well until I remembered that Reloaded and Revolution were the same movie broken into two parts. Fight scenes in this one were incredible. Also if you’re a fan of Cartesian philosophy, it’ll be great for you as well. Joseph Campbell fans will also be pleased.
Patricia, I’m starting to think I have to go into every movie with low to no expectations to enjoy it. As an example, I was extremely hyped about Reign of Fire… but when I saw it, I thought it wasn’t that good.(I really would have enjoyed seeing the Dragons torch the earth ala Independance Day) but then when I talk to friends or read message boards, everyone is talking about how much they liked it.
I also had NO idea what the Matrix was when I saw the first one, which is part of the reason I was so blown away.
Holy shit I just saw it. Talk about some fucking action. Jesus Christ it was great.
The ending B-L-O-W-S. I was so pissed at the end, but then again, it is only half a movie, so you get the “To Be Concluded” at the end.
The action and fighting scenes were great, but the speaking sucked. The review at my local newspaper said it perfectly Cincinnati News, Sports and Things to Do | Cincinnati Enquirer no www. Check it out.
That Chinese guy that fights Neo before he sees the prophet is a bad ass. Talk about a virus. SMITH IS GOING DOWN!!!
Patricia, you were right in another post when you said this is the year for superheroes and excellent movies. Some company also just signed the fabulous four or whatever to do a movie, so watch out for another one.
Trinity doesn’t die you dolt. For those who haven’t seen it, she doesn’t die, but you’ll have to see for yourself.
RD: I refuse to go into a movie with no expectations. I think this is the root of the problem with all of that crap that gets unleashed into theaters. People just don’t expect much anymore.
I had this discussion with some other film-freaks in another site. And it was agreed that people’s expectations are soooo different now than say, 20-25 years ago. A “good bang for the buck” now is 1000 FX shots, spectacular stunts, and cool visuals. My idea is to have characters I care about, a good script, good editing, and if FX is needed; make sure it enhances the story and doesn’t detract. And FX wasn’t really expected 25-years ago; just a good story, characters, etc.
And as for the philosophy in the “Matrix: Reloaded”? Ah, c’mon, it’s philosophy lite. It’s just philosophy-babble to fill in the spots between the action.
I saw it last night @ a special screening and I wasnt at all impressed.
Patricia: To slightly hijack the thread. Did you happen to see BulletProof Monk? I thought it was great. Just enough comedy with Stiffler…
wHooooooo! I am graduating from highschool tonite, but tomorrow will be when I see it. Can’t wait!
Awesome movie!
I was a big fan of the first one, so i was waiting for almost four years for this one to come out!
The brothers gave the second part of this trilogy a nice twist and will keep us guessing right till the very end! The action was good, but i believe that the matrix is so much more than that.
I feel like I have read 2/3 of a really good book, but i am now forced to put it down for 6 months to wait to see how it ends!
I recommend this film big time…but you must see the first one to grasp the concepts and logic behind the plot.
Enjoy!
Great movie - go see it.
Yes, they played the trailer for the third movie at the end. Had to wait thru 15 min of credits, though. There were a lot of good songs during the credits>
For the hardcore Matrix fans out there: If you want a real feel for the entire story of the Matrix I strongly urge you to check out the Animatrix DVD. Two episodes (there are nine total) in particular directly relate to events and/or people in Reloaded: The Kid and Last Flight of the Osiris. The bootleg DVD rip of this is easily obtainable off irc, usenet, etc. (maybe even Kazaa, but I prefer not to use that crap if I don't have to). Or you could just wait until the actual DVD is released June 9th. Anyway, for those who've seen the movie, check these out and you should be able to pick up on their ties to the movie.
Very cool how the Wachowski's were able to intertwine anime, movies, and video games (the Enter the Matrix game also tells more of the story from Reloaded) for a "full multimedia experience." I personally think these guys are brilliant.
After seeing it I was disappointed. There were some seens that seemed to drawn out, such as after morpheus’ speech. the action seemed forced to me at times. I don’t but I don’t think they accomplished what they wanted. preachy here, forced action there.
If Neo is so powerful, why didn’t he just whomp in his fight seens? If he is above and beyond these threat why not disengage with his discovered powers or win a fight very quickly. I guess we couldn’t show off our cool special effects then.
Iwould’ve have wated fro the dvd. X2 still wins. Hopefully the Hulk works.
The movie was sick. Loved it. Defintily crushed X2. i mean come on. X2 was good and I really enjoyed it but just like X-men doesn’t compare to the original matrix, X2 is not as good as the matrix 2. The matrix trilogy is the Star Wars of a new generation that will be around forever. Xmen is just another comic book movie. nuf said. I won’t watch X2 over and over and over like I will this film. As far as Neo not being powerfull enough, the man kicked ass the whole movie, I’m not sure what you are looking for.
gotta agree. I enjoyed x2 more. I like sex and raves as much as the next guy…but that whole scene? pretty pointless. didn’t do anything for story or character development, so why include it?
