Woke at 264.1 lbs, looking a little less bloated. Still feeling run down/off but better than yesterday.

I’m thinking the same. The last week as also just plain stressful wondering how my back would up. Yesterday was probably when my brain and body went, fuck it, we can relax now.

Todays training

3x10 bracing hip thrusts supersetted with 15 air squats

10x10 second bracing 90/90

45 degree back raise
2x25

Seated low row
Bunchx100 lbs
2xsomex132 lbs

Cable facepulls
2xbunchx33 lbs

Assault bike
8 intervals 10 sec work/20 sec rest

Took only three minutes 40 seconds but got my heart pumping like the sled, just got there faster.

I think this’ll be my go to conditioning, because it’ll almost always be free when I want it. The sled is cool, but the track is in the fitness class area and I won’t be guaranteed that I can access it. Plus the air bike is zero impact and I can progress it by changing interval length, rounds, etc.

Around 35 minutes

Don’t know if I mentioned this, Greg has started getting us to use bands and chains for our supplemental work. So I had to get some, bands I mean. Chains the gym has. I ended up going with Spud Inc because they were the cheapest brand that I would trust. I got a pair of minis, a pair of lights and a pair of averages. Those are all I’ll need for a while according to the loading parameters (minis for bench, all bar weights; squat 200-400 lbs light band; 400-600 lbs average band).

Since I was going to have to pay for shipping anyway and they were on sale I got a formal Bowtie as well. Not for training, but for work. My shoulders are fine, but there are days at work that my shoulders take a beating because of the position they’re in while I do stuff. I figure something that puts them in a good position will mitigate any impact.

I was initially very confused, until I did some research.

“Bought some bands and was feeling fancy, so I decided to buy a bow tie too.”

As long as it matches his tuxedo and top hat.

I’ve got a blue tux that I wore at my wedding. Matching bowtie too. The bowtie still fits, not the tux.

So your saying the neck gains could be better?

Ouch.

Yeah, something like that.

In my defence, it’s a proper bow tie that I tie myself so there’s room for growth.

I couldn’t wear a clip-on, now, could I? There was a LOT of swearing involved in learning how to tie it.

Do you do single leg “lying leg raises”, or double?

And why do you do these?

Im just curious, and Im am c considering adding it to my program.

Double. They’re an easy ab exercise to do at home and my hip flexors work as well. They’re also harder than crunches or situps, and planks i figure I don’t need as much because they’re more of a bracing exercise.

Woke at 266.3 lbs, looking similar to yesterday. Maybe my tracking has been off this weekend, or I’ve had a lot more salt than I thought.

Todays training

3x10 bracing hip thrusts supersetted with 15 air squats

10x10 second bracing 90/90

Did this all while wearing my Bowtie. I’ve been wearing it every morning for 30 or so minutes since I got it, and I’m going to have a crack with it at work tomorrow.

Squat, bow bar
2x10x302 lbs

Close stance squat, bow bar
2x10x302 lbs

My SI joint went a bit on a rep during the first set because I pushed too deep. I forgot that close stance puts a ton of strain on that area. All good though. I’m really glad I wore my belt though. I decided earlier that I’m going to wear it more, simply because it protects my back.

Front squat, bow bar
10x187 lbs

I’m using the bow bar with Greg’s blessing. I figured it’s there, apparently it’s much easier on your shoulders and doesnt change your groove, so why not?

It’s comfortable to squat with, but while it does give your shoulders a break it doesn’t do shit for my elbows. This kind of supports my theory that elbows getting hurt from squatting isn’t necessarily related to shoulder mobility.

Walking lunges
3x50 feet with around 33 lbs of chain

Came close to failure on these

DB RDL
4x15x65 lbs

Alternating DB hammer curl
4x15x25 lbs

Last set was almost failure and for once got a hell of a bicep pump.

An hour and five minutes

Have mental image of you just wearing a bow tie doing these. Not sure how I feel about that …:joy::joy::joy:
