Goblet squats it is then. Haha, no fancy machines in the ol’ cheese factory. Have you tried going somewhat heavy on goblet squats before?
Yep, we don’t mind it. It’s part of the process.

I think the heaviest I’ve gone is around 120 lbs. Works your upper back more than 60 lbs, but not your legs. If you’ve got a 32 kg kettlebell hanging around you’ll be fine. Try not lockout out or hitting depth to make it harder.
Sorry, what do you mean with DL bar? Softer bar with a lot more whip, texas bar ?They are really rare here, IPF doesn’t allow them in the competitions. As I know, you can pull 10-15kg more with this type of bar.
Softer (more whip), thinner, more aggressive knurling (although that depends on the brand) and longer (weight spaces out more, increasing the bend/ whip of the bar).
Because the bar bends more, the weights gradually leaves the floor, opposed to leaving it alltogether at once. That can increase the weight one can deadlift but I would say it depends on personal preferences and total weight lifted. I don’t think that the bar makes a huge difference at ‘lower’ weights.
Will do, thanks.
It really depends. I’ve known of people who find it harder to pull with a deadlift bar. I haven’t taken a max on a stiff bar in years so I have no idea how much of a difference it makes to me. I just like how the bar is a bit thinner.
This is odd I figured being similar in size (25 lbs difference) you would like a thicker bar like myself, but I got weird hands.
I’ve got pretty small hands, dainty wrists and small feet.
How tall are you? I have a deceiving size, im as wide as I am tall. I once had a girl ask me if I was 5’5 based on pictures and im 6’1. But I got large hands and relative to my size small feet at only 11 us mens.
I’m five feet nine inches. Feet are size eight and a half.
I’m 173 cm tall.
Oh I thought you were taller! interesting, cheers buddy nice work today.
You must have shrunk, you were 5ft 9 last week ![]()
Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
Five foot nine.
50 light band good mornings before bed, just in case
Woke at 266.5 lbs, looking maybe a bit less bloated. Back is almost normal again, but I’ll keep doing the extra work just to be safe for squats on Monday.
Must have taken quite the dump this morning…

I think I might have to start giving up on metric to imperial conversion
Hey Mark,
You reckon when applying Prilepin’s it’s too simple to just stay at optimum reps and wave the weight?
e.g
3 x 6 @ 70%
3 x 6 @ 72.5%
3 x 6 @ 75%
3 x 6 @ 77.5%
Deload
Absolutely not too simple.
I’d go one step further, though. Stay at or around optimum reps, but vary the sets and reps each week to get there. It’s tempting to have some sort of pattern, because it looks pretty on paper but arguably it is less effective. Patterns are easier to adapt to, which isn’t what you want to be doing.
Extra workout
Two rounds of
25 band pull aparts
25 band hammer curls
50 light band good mornings
25 lying leg raises
Going to increase pull aparts and hammer curls to 35 next week
