MarkKO's Training Log

Greg throws weird shit like that in periodically. He’s a fan of front and goblet squats mostly. I’m guessing this time it was because he knew our upper and middle backs would be trashed so we’d get more out of something not so reliant on them.

Woke at 228.6 lbs, some lower ab bloating but nothing compared to what I expected. Win.

Damn nice BB rows man! Rowing some heavy ass weight for sure!

I’m pretty happy. Typical, though: I thought before when I could row three plates my back would be reasonbly big. Now I can row three plates, and my back is bigger than before but still not big.

I’m sure once you get to set 5 sets of 10 BB Rows with 300+ your back is going to start to look like a silverback gorilla.

Woke at 231.4 lbs, definitely a fair bit of bloating.

Woke at 229.2 lbs, waaay less bloated.

Today’s training

Leg extensions, GHR sit-ups and jumps

Squat, mono
5xbar
5xplate/143 lbs
5x3x231 lbs

Wanted some wrapping practice and to make sure I can hit depth properly wrapped so I wrapped the first two sets. Felt like an empty bar

Pull-ups and hand release push-ups (9/9, ninth pull-up wasn’t super convincing but was there all the same)

Bench press
5xbar
5x88 lbs
5x3x126 lbs

In and out in 50 minutes. Time for some low intensity landscaping.

You shaving again !?

I believe that is manscaping, and when it comes to Mark, it isn’t low intensity :joy:

I have a single ab so there’s no need to shave. Efficient.

Garden needed some work. The dog may have caused this.

Woke at 229 lbs, some lower ab bloating.

Woke at 229.9 lbs, looking much the same.

Average weekly gain for May was 1.3 lbs, so I’m now really skirting the edge of ‘safe’. Need to watch that. That being said, as long as my performance is good and my pull-up indicator keeps moving in the right direction I won’t worry too much.

Heaviest you have ever been?

Not quite. Least fat I’ve been at this weight, though. I think I was close to 260 lbs when I hit 18 if I remember correctly, and I was fat AF. Around mid 2016 I was around my current weight but carrying way less muscle. Once I cross 231 lbs I’ll be in uncharted territory.

I’m staying the course to 264 lbs, so I’ve got another 35 lbs to go.

What are you doing for clothing? You work security right? You must be having to purchase several different uniform sizes as you move up?

You’re talking what, 80lbs of gain in 1.5 years?

Love it!

Luckily I was this weight when I started here two years ago. So, shirts, jumpers and jackets I’ve simply kept using the whole time, they’re just not tents any more; trousers I just ask for new ones. I’m currently wearing a size too big around the waist because that gives me actual room for my legs. My old trousers I could wear - they were a bit tight around the waist but perfectly usable - except every time I went up stairs I was almost busting the crotch. Plus, I don’t have to pay for any uniform so it’s all moot.

Also, yes, around 80 lbs, not sure of the one and a half years. At the current rate it’ll be more like one and a half to two, I think (assuming four pounds a month, from 185 to 264 lbs is 21 or so months)

I know how this feels. Got a pair of tight white tennis shorts for an 80’s dress up party I am going to (going as John McEnroe). Tried them on and let’s just say it was hard to breath and they left nothing to the imagination. Wife said she refuses to go if I wear them. Was trying to show her they weren’t too bad tried to squat down and nearly tore them in half. I thought the wife was going to wet herself she laughed so hard. Managed to find a slightly bigger pair so all good.
