Try to get the bar behind your collarbones, that way you will be a lot more stable and your shoulders won’t limit you as much
I fight the same urge to lean into a front squat. Heeled shoes have helped me trust a sit back. I have to actively think about staying upright and pressing the bar into my throat (tip from alpha).
Woke at 220.7 lbs, looking dryish.
When I first saw that clip on IG I though at you set up you were going to strict press it and was like whhhhaaaaaatt !!
Give me a few years
Good looking front squats there Mark, great form.
Woke at 222.2 lbs, looking about the same. Maybe a little bloated around lower ab, but nothing really noticeable.
Birthday party for a friend of munchkin’s. Good opportunity for extra food. Also, found a use for me in the absence of a ladder.
Ha ha that’s one benefit of being made of concrete. Nice one mark. Hope the party was great and munchkin had a ball.
Looks like you could handle 5 more people boss.
how tempted were you to squat her?
Woke at 223.5 lbs, lower ab visibly bloated. I’m putting it down to salt more than anything. Back to weekday eating, so I expect things to stop back to the 220-1 mark soon.
@Yogi1 I see what you did there. I limited myself to not mentioning that he was pretty much the same as a warmup weight.
So you haven’t found anyone over 300lbs willing to get on your shoulders yet? Lol
No, not that I’ve looked ![]()
Hey Mark, do you mind if I ask you for some life advice?
Not in the slightest @Destrength
If you prefer you can DM me in Insta, BTW
Then we will not have the insight Mark !
Woke at 223.7 lbs, looking the same as yesterday.
Figured I’d kick this off because I haven’t done it for a while and I’d rather know sooner than later if the numbers tell a nasty story. I’ll update for end of April in three days.
Also, the numbers don’t tell a nasty story. I’m on with the weekly average rate of gain. I don’t want it going higher than it is, but a a pound and a quarter a week is just at the high end of sustainable.
Today’s training
Belt squats, GHR sit-ups, some half-arsed jumps
Squat, mono
5xbar
5xplate/143 lbs
5x3x231 lbs
Tried my Mattflexes for squatting. First impression isn’t great, but I’ll persevere for a little because I think it may be worthwhile
Pull-ups and hand release push-ups (8/8)
Bench press
5xbar
3x88 lbs
5x3x126 lbs
Done in something like 35-40 minutes
