MarkKO's Training Log

My girlfiend said something along the lines “so you are filming yourself getting into basically skin tight underwear and send it to other men on the internet? Ok…”

Forgot one thing: The messy room where I got my briefs on is not located in my home but the gym! Just wanted to make that clear

Ask he if she’d rather you send other men videos of you getting out of skin tight clothes…

I was wondering, because I don’t want to know how uncomfortable driving or walking to the gym in even fairly loose briefs would be.

Today’s training

Plate raises with 33 lbs for a bunch (full ROM like Paul Carter does) - nice change from DB raise tri-set

Military press
10xbar
8x88 lbs
5x8x132 lbs, 7 RPE, 7-8 RPE (thumbs around, felt decent, 8 RPE (thumbs around, slightly wider grip and felt better), 9 RPE (thumbs around, wider grip: index finger on inner ring), 10 RPE (same grip)

Work sets took 14 minutes. Goal next week is 1+x9+

Seems like full grip with hands wider out is the way to go now. Closer in feels like I’m all pinched in, and in fairness closer in my forearms aren’t vertical. They used to be. I’m guessing I’ve gotten wider?

Definitely felt my delts working.

Lateral raises supersetted with low/mid rows
Raises 5x12x20 lbs - still butt kickers
Rows 5x12x132 lbs - nice again, hit centre mid back well. Could probably go up in a couple of weeks

Rear delt machine supersetted with Hammer Strength pull-down
Delts 3x15 at pin 6, elbows on handles
Pulldowns 12x132 lbs, neutral grip and slightly too heavy to feel, 2x12x121 lbs, underhand grip, spot on weight and felt great in my lats

Swapped out rope pulldowns on a whim because I’ve been doing them for a while now. Good decision

Empty BB curls
4x25, short rests - marginally easier than last week but still an obnoxious pump

Including stretching took an hour 10 minutes

Carb feed for tomorrow

Pretty jealous you can bang out sets of 8 with 60kg on the military, especially cause you haven’t been trainng it! (not saying that I expected less from you though aha)

When did you stop training it ? Do you remember your numbers from then ?

I stopped training it as a main movement around a year ago. I think at it’s best I was hitting 154 lbs for something like 11 and 176 lbs for four. So I’ve lost some for sure.

Woke at 198.9 lbs, looking kind of soft and bloated. I guess not surprising because of the carb feed? Or could also be my hair coming back in. Scale weight is dead on where I expected. Bloating was just around lower abs, so definitely just food.

Might take some pics later today and put them up.

Today’s training

90 degree back raise to GHR for a bunch

SGDL off 10 cm blocks, stiff bar
10x132 lbs, hook, index on ring (the stiff bar as WL marking only so the rings are over 81 cm apart)
8x220 lbs, straps, index on ring
3x10x308 lbs, straps, pinkie on ring (just easier to grip), under 6, 6, 6 RPE - up to 330 lbs next week. Nice change from conventional. Traps and hamstrings stood out

Work sets took around 8 minutes

Squat

Got my replacement lever from Titan last week, so back to my trusty 13 mm Brahma (which I didn’t have to adjust out, BTW. Win)

5xbar
5xplate/143
5x2 plates/231, open belt
3x10x341 lbs, under 6, 6-7 and 8 RPE - up to 363 lbs next week. Third set will be interesting

Work sets took 14 minutes. Squatting in Chucks feeling really good. Seems to be a thing for me that wider stance means flats are nicer, closer works better with heels.

Third set

Rope STBs supersetted with 90 degree back raises
STBs 3x7 - ab wheel last week did its usual thing and slightly annoyed my elbows so I cast around for an elbow friendly ab exercise and trying ropes for the STBs stood out. Felt great, plus a real grip taxer too. Keeping these
Raises 3x25 with slight pause at the top - my lower back did not need any extra load on it today and this pumped my erectors beautifully. Keeping these too.

All up took an hour 40 minutes - setting up and putting away the carpet tiles takes around five, and I needed around 10 minutes to stop feeling like my head would explode after squats

OK, pictures. I’ll tag @The_Myth @BOTSLAYER @littlesleeper and @Serge_A_Storms as my sounding board because I don’t see much change. Maybe some slightly added back width and thickness and rounder shoulders. Body comp seems similar.

I’d like to think the lighting is quite uncomplimentary.

Gotcha, thanks!

I agree with this which is probably what makes it difficult to really see much change. I think just overall you’re looking a few lbs “thicker”. Holding good proportions, maintaining a good level of bodyfat and just growing in size. Legs, arms and chest looking a little thicker to me.

The consistency is paying off!

That chest of yours in the relaxed front looks a fair bit meatier than I remember!

Which reminds me, meant to tag @IronOne too. Yeah, I guess maybe some extra meat around the chesticles. Wish I was growing like the dog, she’s adding six plus pounds of lean mass a month

Thick AF bro.

You remind me of @BrickHead before he got all bodybuilder and cut. Keep up the hypertrophy stuff, it’s working with respect to comp.

You got a good thing going on.

In which case I am in esteemed company.

Thanks for chiming in guys. It’s tough to see positive change when I look at myself every day.
