Took a few pics after my post training meal nap - so sue me, it’s a day off work and the sun was hitting our bed just right. Plus, I didn’t really sleep because I had to keep Simba from chewing me.
Weighing 194.7 lbs here. I think my arms may have finally started growing a little. Maybe back too.
Woke at 192.5 lbs looking a bit flat after a rough fucking night. Started feeling a bit nauseous around 1800, by 2100 or so I was burning up, freezing and shaking pretty much uncontrollably. Fiancee got majorly scared to the point she called the ambulance, but they pretty much just said stop hyperventilating, try to cool down, you’ll feel like shit for a few days.
Luckily they were wrong, came good someway through the night. Now I’m just a bit drained. Intraworkout supps with electrolytes are fucking awesome.
What surprised me is how exhausted I am today. Got up for maybe an hour, then my body just went yeah nah. Been lying in bed dozing trying to get as much food and liquid in as I can tolerate. I guess the shaking plus fever plus waking up every hour or two took a toll.
I’d have to go back and review your log to recall what your goals and plans are, but I can assume aesthetics are at least part of it, here is my conclusion from the pics:
We should work out together sometime.
(Not just saying that because of how those briefs shimmer in that perfect lighting)
I think a period of high-volume, high-rep isolation work for arms and shoulders would add some nice balance to a very solid physique for you. Serge style!
Specifically, biceps, long head of triceps, and lateral delt.
Biceps fullness looks good, but some peak work there and then some long head mass would really pay off on the overall visual impact for arms.
Front delts look awesome, especially in your back double pose. Lateral delt mass would also provide a lot of visual bang for the buck, especially from the front relaxed angle.
Hope you don’t mind the unsolicited input from an armchair physique evaluator.
I cheat at home. And I don’t log it…let me explain:
I often do two a days. I’ll go out in my garage and have a quick 30 min pump session for arms, or delts, or any specific smaller body part. Doesn’t really affect recovery from my experience, but will add some significant growth in the long term.
Now you know my secret haha. I really lift 10-14 times a week.
@Serge_A_Storms thanks heaps! Definitely don’t mind, much appreciated. I’ll add in some of those tips after the meet. I’ve put between then and end of the year to build some size so it’s a perfect time to implement that.
Woke at 192 lbs, looking a bit fuller. Surprised, since I ate fuck all yesterday. Then again, it was mostly carbs and I spent most of the day asleep so not like I needed much energy.
Hopefully back to normal today. Leaving out the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice in the morning just to be extra careful with my stomach lining.
Tape is good, borrowing my coach’s tape/the other lifters’ tape helped me a lot during my early hooking days. Eventually I quit using tape because I could do without tape and it kept me from fiddling with tape.
Drugs are a weird thing. I personally like to see them unregulated so people can if they want to while others can abstain or go on lower doses if they don’t feel the need.
What I dislike is people who go to tested comps and lifting dirty, it’s one of the few ways to cheat. It’s like somebody squatting high in comp, there are feds that are okay with it, but if you think your 700 pound squat that is five inches above parallel should be counted in an IPF meet and you somehow get it passed (bribing, pocket sand, magic), then one you are stupid for thinking it would get passed, and two you just made things really dirty, and disrespectful to all parties involved.
Got it in one. If I ever were to compete in an untested fed I would follow the rules exactly as I do for the lifts themselves and I’d be pissed at anyone who broke them and got away with it because we all signed up to those rules voluntarily. Competing in an untested fed, I am fully aware that I may well be competing against enhanced lifter’s, and it is my choice not to do the same - so if that means I lose, it is my fault for not giving myself the edge.
My gripe in PL with people who bemoan PED use in the sport as a whole is that it is one of the very few sports where you have a tested and untested option, so why the hell complain? Yes, I’m sure there are IPF lifters using. I’m also fairly sure they are far fewer in proportion to the numbers in untested feds, and not necessarily the majority of the top IPF lifters either.
I would never name names, but I’ve heard from some people that there’s more than you’d think in ipf
Have you seen Icarus? Preeeeeety cool docco on peds
Went in with zero expectations today. Appetite is back but stomach doesn’t like food.
Today’s training
Lazy lifter plus shoulders
Bench press
TM is 236 lbs
Work up from bar in 22 lbs x3-5 to 60%, 20 pull aparts between sets - having issues setting my elbows, kept overtucking but seem to have nixed butt lifting which is good.
3x165 lbs, under 6 RPE
3x187 lbs, under 6 RPE
1x214 lbs, 6 RPE - only managed to get my elbows sorted now
1x236 lbs, 6 RPE
2x1x258 lbs, 8-9 and 9 RPE - paused, no hand out. Pleased, especially given the last couple of days
Press supersetted with strict BB rows
Press 3x6x137 lbs, 7, 7-8 and 8 RPE
Rows 3x8x187 lbs - really happy with these, felt the same or easier than 176 lbs. Nice and strict too. Win.
Rope lat pulldowns
3x12x100 lbs
Bis/tris
Dead stop hammer curls off thigh 12x25 lbs
DB tricep rollovers 10x25 lbs
Was told I looked pretty grey by this point, and the feeling of wanted to hurl was distracting so went home.
@kleinhound yep, definitely suspect there’s a fair bit in the IPF (certainly more than gets pinged, at any rate) but also that it’s less than WRPF, GPC, GPA, etc.
