MarkKO's Training Log II

Just about your hydration levels or general stuff you’re wondering about?

Anyway I am all for asserting dominance.

Mostly just to see if they think I am taking too many Vitamin D supplements.

Somehow I don’t think that’s what they’ll think you’ve taken too much of.

One of my fancy text books said to drink half your weight in water each day (ounces of water and pounds of body weight). For you fancy metric folks, you could just match your weight in kgs. I weigh a little more than 100 kgs so I aim for at least 100 oz of water a day.

Ah yes, the famous metric measurement of ounces

I should be on the same level as you by that measurement. I have a half-gallon jug that I try to get a few drinks a day out of, so I’m probably doubling it. But I’ve always been a constant water drinker even before exercising was a part of my life.

If you drink mucho water, and your urine is clear but you’re still thirsty and feel dehydrated (like a headache) you need some electrolytes.

I’ve heard beer has electrolytes.

A dash of salt and a lime squeeze and you’ve got the perfect drink.

AND water. And protein. And happiness.

I can do pounds to kgs but oz to L or ml of beyond me. I was just discussing my next outdoor project with my dad. I need some crushed gravel. I measure the space in feet, but they sell the stuff in cubic yards. It’s simple math: L x W x Depth (all in feet) and then divide by 27. Why do we did this to ourselves? :man_facepalming:

What kind of American doesn’t get enough sodium?

An ounce is about 28 grams, which I know because an eighth of an ounce is 3.5 grams, which I know because of reasons.

When I’m making cocktails with Yank recipes I just take an oz as 35ml, because that’s the measurement in the glass.

Ahh, yes. I do know 28 grams is an ounce because of drugs.

You should have added that you’re a cop to that statement :joy:

To be fair, he could be a cop with a massive crack addiction. How else does he DL 505 after all, he is high as shit.

Woke at 248 lbs again. Tried to drink more yesterday, but I did have a glass of wine in the evening so there may still be some dehydration.

I’m going to ride this out a little longer and see what happens. It’s not like I’m anywhere close to lean enough to make performance suffer.

I took waist and neck measurements just now. Waist is down an inch from last time, neck the same as previously. Waist is also two meals in, so I’m counting that as a win.

My waist is 119.5 cm, or 47 inches at the navel (I figured I’d pick the largest circumference)
Neck is 45 cm, or 17.7 inches at the narrowest point

Woke at 247.4 lbs, looking similar to yesterday.

This could be related to the serratus anterior, I had some issues with that before. It can cause pain in the shoulder and bicep, it’s a muscle under your armpit between your pec and lat. Try digging into it with your hand, if it hurts when you push on it that’s a sign that it’s probably tight or irritated.

Also scalenes, the muscles on the sides of your neck, can cause pains in all sorts of places.

Moving down to 242 or what?

That’ll be my next check. Right now the work on my rotator cuff seems to be working.

Also yes, looks like the 242s for a bit. At least until I can steady out, establish a set point of sorts and move back to a leaner 265.
