Maple Syrup Strength (littlesleeper)

A little meal prep; 3lbs of beef, some tomatoes, beans, cheese and chilli seasoning over a bed of protein noodles.

It doesn’t look overly appealing, but was very tasty!

Managed to pick up a little 48hr bug, primary symptom was a fever accompanied by a bad headache lasting nearly the full two days.

Yesterday I was back to normal and we hosted a bunch of friends for some hockey down on the lake on our property (yes, that’s me in the orange snow suit - and no, that’s not all my friends, they hadn’t all arrived yet, okay?).

Some T-ransformation starting photos @TrainForPain . Looking to lean out, bring back some consistency, and not have 3days of DOMS every time I complete a hard gym session! (I realize that will come with said consistency)

Dude, “after” photos come in May.

Looking good—and it’s nice to see you posting again!

Starting stats to improve upon over the next few months - 218.4lbs with a 37.5” waist (at navel).

Without the booze and junk food, I expect the waist to really come down. Goal is to get under 210lbs and hit a 34” waist with visible abs. These should be well within reach, but will need to stay consistent!

Whew - a little ambitious on my log clean and press, a movement I haven’t done in over a year.

I might replace it with axle press out of the rack, as I think that better aligns with my current goals. The log is a little higher risk I find with the weight being out front, forcing a little more back bend/arch to press the weight.

A bit of an odd last week. I broke out in hives 4 times this year, with uncertainty about what caused it. I was referred to a dermatologist for some tests. So the last 3 days, by back was completely covered in tape and different reactants. I’m still not supposed to sweat or shower until Monday (pleasant, I know).

So I had a fan on me, and plenty of rest between sets for this workout to refrain from sweating too much!

All said and done in 32mins, top set of squats was 365x5 on the SSB.

Nice little workout - feeling full during this workout thanks to a big (second) breakfast at a restaurant with family following my son’s hockey practice this morning.

Top set of deadlifts, 495x10. High bar, but was still a strong set - more in the tank.

I had two interviews over the last 3 weeks within the same organization, and have now officially been offered both positions.

Currently in negotiations for salary, but I may have had some celebratory cocktails and some dirty food (pizza and fries) last night.

Back on the clean diet train, until I’m off to the Dominican with a friend for 3 rounds of golf and 3 nights at an all-inclusive! (Super Bowl weekend)

Congrats on the job offers!

Thanks @Frank_C! I ended up declining the top opportunity because we couldn’t align on salary, but happy with the other opportunity. I think the company was surprised I turned it down and is currently seeking approvals to increase their offer, but I’m not holding my breath. I hope all is well with you!

I know these little posts aren’t nearly as engaging to my audience, but not a lot of resources to put into the site at this time! I hope all the usuals are doing well, and crushing your 2026 goals.

I only worked out 7 times in January :grimacing:, so time to improve this stat in February. I have a little 4 day golf trip to Dominican Republic coming up, so might be some resort workouts logged in here, fueled by Pina Coladas. Cheers friends!
