Maple Syrup Strength (littlesleeper)

Third day in a row working out. We are going on a mini vacation down to the US this weekend (Watertown, NY), so figured I’d get the work done and not worry about having 3 rest days.

295 x 2
295 x 2

15 x 10

EZ Bar Curls

A little longer workout than normal, a buddy of mine showed up early in the workout and we had some catching up to do. He is the buddy that I was signed up to do the partner strongman comp with awhile back. He also recently had a kid, so good times catching up. Workout was a bit less focused than usual.

Sometimes that’s just what the dr ordered. Light hearted workout with a friend is always awesome

Great mini-vacation with my wife and wee lad. We spent time relaxing in the hotel room, a little exploratory shopping (where I bought a pair of Converse All Star high tops for $32USD), some time spent in the pool, and lots of unhealthy eating. Some McDonald’s, an ordered in pizza to the hotel room and one night we went out for a nice steak dinner. Miller Lite was the drink of choice for the two nights, but overall it was a nice recharge for us.

Woke up at 220.0lbs this morning, oops!

I got dinged by the state trooper on the way home, I was on cruise control at 70MPH (in a 65) but he picked me up where it changed to a 55 zone and I hadn’t noticed soon enough…
Quite the process to pay a speeding ticket. I went online to complete an hour long smart driver training course for a reduction in penalty (which cost $55 to complete), and then I have to sign the ticket to plea guilt and send it via registered mail to the courthouse or something.
In Canada you can basically whip out your Visa on the side of the road and pay the man. The trooper couldn’t even tell me what the penalty was going to be, hopefully not too much…the vacation could end up being a lot more expensive than I was hoping.

Damn Sleepy, could be costly.
We have speed cameras here as well as traffic police. Really annoying to meet them

We have this in Mexico!!! Buuuut it has to be cash and done discreetly so the cruiser camera cant see. Same thing right?

Sounds like a good little vacation, good to read.

That is a strange process to pay a speeding ticket. In Germany you have basically multiple options: Pay immediately (cash or card), pay later after you get the ticket via mail or fight in court about it if you don’t accept the penalty for some reason. Most tickets stem from being caught by an automated traffic camera anyway.

Let’s hope not!

Lol, not exactly the same, we need to offer the officer Maple Syrup along with any transaction.

This is basically our process as well. I was surprised there is no “Pay Online” option. Come on America, it is 2020 for goodness sakes! Get with the times, gah jokes about politics are entering my head…must…not…go there…

Woke at 218.2lbs, there is a nice drop of that weekend bloat.

Wishful thinking for the US with finances surely? They’re still using cheques!

15 mph over is probably not going to be cheap. 16 over is considered reckless driving  And that’s even more expensive.

Actually?? It was 71 in a 55! That’s only 25km/hr over the speed limit, that is usually a friendly Canadian warning. 40km/hr (25MPH) is what we consider “stunt driving” and you can be heavily fined.
Oh man, not looking forward to getting this one in the mail…

In my state that would cost you about $185 if stopped by a Trooper, less if stopped by us city folk. You can pay us online or even over the phone. I guess each jurisdiction is different.

That sucks, but honestly not as bad as I was beginning to think. I’m hoping that $55 e-learning course I took knocks it down by more than $55!
Keep y’all posted on my conviction. I apologize to all my law enforcement friends out there for being such a criminal.

Oh, and I may actually have the opportunity to get a workout in tonight. It has been a few days! These squats are going to be an a$$ kicker.

And inches, miles, feet. We’re just stubborn

Aussie is similar but with no pay now option. You get a ticket and you either pay the fine (and get the points on your licence) or you contest it it Court.
We do have one other option, if you have a clean driving record (I think for more than 3 years) you can write a letter in which you apologise for your minor indiscretion and usually they then cancel the ticket and give you a caution. This can only be done once though, doesn’t work when you get three tickets close together like someone I know :sob:

This sounds more like a Canadian thing

Well we use those intermittently as well but they’re not so barbaric as signing for a card transaction.
