I was just creeping the social media of my competition host and it looks like Jimmy Paquet is going to be competing (Iām a bit of a fanboy of his, you have probably at least heard his name if you follow the strongman scene), and Amit Sapir has also commented that he thinks he is also going to be there.

Good grief that is huge volume for the deadlift.
There are days that I wonder if I could do 405 x 10 but on my best day I donāt picture it going that smoothly.

Thanks man, it feels like ages between deadlifting sessions (once per week) compared to my squatting and bench so I really like getting some decent volume in on DL.
I definitely think you could, especially seeing some of your recent deadlift sets! I think if you set a day a month from now and tailored your training around it you could smoke 405 x 10.

Last week, I did this burner set variation for 15 reps and it wasnāt easy. This day I was able to get to 12 without having to take a few breaths, so pushed it to 20reps. It was cardio for sure.

Haha, yeah. Iām still very loosely following the principles of the vertical diet. When I started following it, I did notice a quick increase in performance and even physique was looking tighter/bigger. But I think this was largely due to the addition of salt to everything that I consume.
Donāt force it, it will come! Iād hate to see a set back from trying a weight you arenāt quite ready forā¦although I donāt exactly practice what Iām preachingā¦
20rep squats have had a special place in my heart ever since running Building the Monolith.
Thanksgiving long weekend means a lot of travelling for family, so I went to slip in a quick one this morning and tweaked my hamstring trying to aggressively warmup. So I just stuck with bench to be safe. Skipped squats.

Well, after 4 Thanksgiving dinners this weekend (yay, double divorced parents), I thought I was in permanent turkey coma, but was able to awaken long enough to get a workout in. I did not want to do this at all, but I did not want to fall any further behind on my meet prep than I already amā¦

Just a basic workout to get the main work done. Iām currently behind 1 squat workout and 1 deadlift workout, but ahead 1 bench workout. Iām planning to hit my deadlifts tomorrow (which would have been the bench workout I did today), so Iām hoping to be back on track by the end of the week.

Deadlifts tonight! (5x3 @ 495lbs)
Woke at 222.8lbs this morning. A few bonus lbs from Thanksgiving weekend. Iām sure my weight will level itself out by next weekend back around the 220lb mark.
Plan is to hover around 220lbs until my comp (Nov 24), so that no real water cut is necessary. I will likely still do a moderate water cut to make sure I make weight, and helps the Wilks score out a bit too. Although, my main goal is to just lift more weight than I did in June, regardless of Wilks.
What is Thanksgiving in Canada? I guess ours celebrates meeting and getting along with the Native Indiansā¦until we decided to murder them. I have a little Native blood in me so Iām not a complete murdererā¦Iām part victim too.
