Feeling pretty tired this evening and not too excited about working out, but went and got the main work in.

Bench
135 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 3
245 x 2
265 x 2
285 x 3 x 5sets

I did these flat back, no leg drive and a loose upper back. My sunburn was uncomfortable enough to make me not tuck my traps/lats to set up for bench. So 285lbs felt heavier than it should…

Bunch of band work between sets. Then I almost called it there but talked myself into doing a 10min yoga session before calling it quits. So at least I helped with recovery/mobility, right?

Last year I went through a phase where I was working out shirtless (home gym perks) and completely forgot about a sunburn I had gotten. Put 135 on to warm up for some low bar squats and the knurling digging into that sunburn was one hell of an experience.

That sounds pretty awful! Yep, no way I was going arch/pack traps/leg drive on my sunburn.

Vid of me moving some of my implements yesterday. I thought it was going to be more of a struggle but they seemed to move alright! Plus, good lighting, so I’ll post it.

Tire loading should be a new strongman event.

Ya really! I didn’t know what to expect when I decided to attempt at loading it myself. I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to load it. I thought it would be harder than flipping it (which is not easy for me), but was pleasantly surprised.

You’re asking a lot of that S-10 pickup!

That good ol’ boy music really made the video.

You bet, I put that ol’ gal through beatin’ on a regular basis!

Haha, I’ll take that as a compliment.

Ya, that’s just some random Youtube music I picked. The radio was playing in my truck during the video but it was all ads, so I figured I’d add some twang to the vid.

The only improvement I can think of would be to double the speed and put it to the tune of Yakety Sax

I’d imagine you know how that feels

But looking at how fast you burned the calories I feel like I should get my bike out and go poke some bears

That’s like 2000 Calories per hour! (Gotta find a bear with some real good conditioning though)

Haha, no way I was keeping that pace for another 30s let alone an hour!

Hey, how is the cpap? Still using it?

I cannot keep up with your log - lots of action in here! Here’s a vote for more food pics/ recipes though. It looks awesome and I remember you saying you knock the cooking out in really reasonable times.

Uhm…no. I need to get back at it. I went to a CPAP store in town yesterday to see how much a new hose would cost (since the one I’m using still has a faint smokey smell to it from the previous owners). I’m going to be ordering one of Amazon soon. I did have it on for 20mins before bed last night and it is starting to feel a little more comfortable (not getting short of breath nearly as often with it on). Once I feel comfortable enough with it on, I’ll give it a better effort to sleep with it on.
My biggest problem with sleeping, is getting to sleep. So focusing on breathing and having the mask on my face definitely makes an already difficult task, even more difficult.

Haha, yep we are a fast-paced crew up in here! Thanks man, I’ll be sure to keep the food posts coming, I know I enjoy them from other people’s logs as well. Yep, I often do a lot of my prep/cooking between sets of my workouts, so by the time I’m done my workout dinner is nearly finished! This also results in overcooked/burnt meals on occasion…speaking of burnt meals…

My Mother stopped by last night for a visit and dinner. After dinner I suggested we go take the dogs for a walk (Post meal 10min walk a la Stan Efferding), completely forgetting that I was amidst meal prepping and the chicken in the oven had 2mins left and the veggies on the stove could be taken off. Upon re-entering the house after the walk, I was graced by the smell of my error. Chicken breasts the size of baby-fists and the bell peppers and spinach were mush. Yay. Luckily, the house was not burnt to the ground, so I’ll chalk that up as win.

275 x 3
315 x 3
365 x 2
405 x 1
435 x 8 ← Rep PR: Not the smoothest reps in the world. Form didn’t quite seem to be there, but strength absolutely was. I could have eeked out a few more, but decided this was enough since I couldn’t find the groove. (This is a projected 1RM of 550lbs, which is pretty cool).

Before running this program I was only really confident up to a single at 475lbs. As soon as I start approaching 500lbs I have difficulty. 525lbs is my lifetime PR at the moment, so I’m looking forward to seeing what comes out at the meet!
