I have a question about California. I know the southern coastal cities are more into fitness and are seemingly more health conscious, but does that line of thinking degenerate as you go east from the coast?
Any native Calis care to give an opinion?
YES!! I lived in SoCal for 8 years and, the more inland you go, the more fat and trashy the population gets. I can only speak for SoCal, but other than the coastal cities, California is just white trash.
Haha. Come on, it can’t be all white trash. But I can see being sedentary common in places like Barstow and Needles. I mean what else is there to do but eat and stay in the a/c?
Well, of course I’m exaggerating a little, but it’s not far from the truth. San Bernadino County is just a dirty desert. Riverside isn’t much better.

Aren’t there, thankfully, also a lot of hot chicks (and fake tits) in Houston? A friend of mine (who is originally from Michigan) lives there and he says it’s a pretty good scene, female-wise.

As delicious as a mixed diet of Tex-Mex, Cajun, Midwest bready foods, Southern style deserts and deep fried sides can be, I wish more of my fellow Texans would excercise to keep up with their diets.
My home city of Houston has been labeled the nations fattest city a few times, and there are certainly some fat asses lumbering around. I’m not sure how they stand the heat and humidity.

Yes, there are a lot of hot chicks and fake tits as well. It seems that a large percentage of the cities population takes fitness and health very seriously, but a large percentage does not care at all and they are huge and ugly.
I’m not sure how the rating was measured. If it were statistical, i would question the surveys validity. If it were based on sheer numbers it would have been irrelevant as Houston is one of the Nations top 5 largest cities and has a huge population equating to lots of fatties, but also lots of hotties and fake tits.
I’ve been to michigan and some of the other midwest states. It seems that from where i’ve been at least, the midwest has plenty of “all american” beauties but there are lots of fat betties too.
Houston, being a large port city, is very diversified and lots of races/nationalities have mixed and shared features to make some very sexy women. My favorite is latina or asian mixed with caucasian personally. The hotness of females is usually a direct result of diversified features that may not be found elsewhere in my opinion.
Nah, Cali and their progressive dieting is just as bad as the rest of us. haha
I would say that you have extremes here. On the one hand, I would say that it’s much easier to get clean food here as opposed to other places. You do have a nice size minority who are into eating healthfully. But as I look around my office, I see an abundance of fat-asses that belie the health-conscious image of California.
I see a LOT of people shopping at Whole Foods. Many of them are buying Organic Chocolate Grahm Bears and imagining that they are eating well, when in fact they are carbing out just as much as the guys shopping for sugary treats at Safeway.

Ah Ha! So they are living under an illusion of healthy eating. Well, at least the people here that eat poorly know that they are eating poorly. I don’t hear many excuses other than “but it’s gooooood!”
I would say that, generally speaking, the fitness levels correlate to income levels. If you could overlay an income level map over a fitness level map, they’d probably match pretty closely.
Near the coast in California = expensive.
NYC = expensive.
Vast outskirts of Houston = lots of lower middle income suburban sprawl.
why are people saying maine ? do you mean michigan ? according to the chart maine is on par with the rest of the country. as far as i can see the only fat people in maine are second homeowners who see their “country doctors” in the summertime.

“Vast outskirts of Houston.” Haha, nice one. The metropolitan area of Houston is like a whole other state.
