Hell yeah I love threads like this. You all have some awesome animals. I dig the mastiffs a ton.
My girls Emma(lab) and Kiyah(husky).
Emma is going on 6 and Kiyah will be 5 this October.
I don’t know what it’s like to have kids, but I have to say, coming home to these two every day really makes things better. Dogs don’t care how your day was, what happened at work, or if you had a shitty work-out that day. They’re just stoked to see you.

Now here is Nixon all grown up.

Now sure how much he can bench![/quote]
He looks like the lab I had for 12 years. I had to put him to sleep in 02 because his health declined rapidly and his kidneys were failing. (blood in urine). Hardest fucking thing I’ve ever had to do. Thinking about it still fucks me up in the head.

I hear you on that one dude. I had to put one of my Bluetic Coonhounds down because of hip displasia back in the day. Kills me to think back on it.

That is so sad! I can’t imagine the day that I have to deal with something like that.

Yeah, imagine looking at your best friend in the eyes knowing that in a little while you will be responsible for putting him to rest. I know that he was suffering and I did what was best, but I pray I never have to do that again.

Damn thats hard putting down an animal, I had a Red Heeler only about 3 years old. He acted alittle iffy to me and my wife, but when my friends came over with their girlfriends, he would sneak attack them. I couldn’t find any farm to take him so I had to put him down. He bit my wife’s niece in the ass one day and that was it. Not sure if it was the type of dog or what, I tried almost everything I could to get him to stop but it was just in his nature. I probably cried for a week here and there, and had that knot in my throat for a few months, but I made a little tribute thing to him in our house and felt better. Now I look at that tribute and just laugh at him, it helps. I still miss him somedays though.
Here’s my dog, Cadillac. I named her cause she was the biggest pup in the liter. She’ part Lab, part Australian Shepperd, and part Great Pyrenees. She’s 16 months old and over 60 lbs.
