Got yourself a new pup, Prof?[/quote]

Not yet. It honestly took a while to get over that one and I only had him for a couple of months. It just pisses me off because that was clearly the smartest dog I ever had. I don’t know if they make them like that on the assembly line that often.

Apparently someone saw the same thing.

Dude-- that little pup you were posting some months back?

That’s awful. Sorry to hear that. WTF is wrong with people?

Don’t worry, whoever has your puppy will certainly end up being mauled to death by him in a few years. Karma’s a bitch.

You’ll get yourself another smarter one, Prof.

Sorry again for the loss.

Agreed; if I died, I doubt any of you would care. However, people who value a domestic animal’s life over a human life (and I have met those individuals), should be eliminated from the gene pool.

Hoping that some man is put through tremendous pain because he put down some random, useless flea bag is a bit much.

I have met them also and I agree with you Legendaryblaze.

Instead of feeling compassion for our fellow human who is possibly struggling to overcome addiction and raise a child or just overreacted to a situation with an animal, “pet people” condemn him and call jihad on all who don’t share their religious belief on the value of pet animals.

How different does that make them from religious fundamentalists?

I have actually had American children tell me, at least one of their parents, loves their pet more than they love them.

Thank you for speaking out, Legendaryblaze.
I feel less alone.

He failed to raise a dog. I shudder to think how the kid turns out.

I met an individual who told me that if she had to choose between saving a puppy or a human baby, that she would save the puppy in all scenarios.
Not to my surprise, she was as dumb as bricks.

There is absolutely no basis behind your statement. The reason he went mental is because the dog harmed his child.

Jesus Christ! Talk about going to extremes to make a point. I’m a horrible dog person have volunteered against animal abuse and animal welfare. Guess what? Of course I don’t value a dog over a human life! I also have 2 dogs that I love and care for…I also have 2 children. I don’t treat my dogs like family they are fmily…they are the family dogs and are treated as such
This dog was not simply put down he was brutally killed and in all liklihood it was the fault of this scumbag.

There are times when unfortunately domestic animals need to be put down. This wasn’t one of them. I do not like the prospects of this child’s future with a fuckhead father like this.

It’s comments like the above that will always reinforce my feeling that I enjoy my dogs company over most humans

Read the article. If the dog attacked his child he’d have been acquitted.

I definitely agree that the reactions have been what I would consider overboard and excessive. While I don’t think dogs are random useless flea bags, I also don’t think killing one, even horribly, is a crime deserving of torture and execution.

If I had witnessed the act myself, I would have been satisfied to merely beat the man nearly to death.

That has to be the most brazenly hypocritical post I’ve ever read. Animal lovers: kill 'em all!

“It’s comments like the above that will always reinforce my feeling that I enjoy my dogs company over most humans”

Matty, you have essentially summed up my impression of this entire thread. My dog might be a naughty dick here and there, but he’s not capable of being an ignorant asshole like so many of those who have commented here.

Good post.

Everything is not always black and white, and you illustrated that perfectly, Matty.
