Maybe, but there should be some wiggle room between not inviting someone to your wedding and putting them behind bars.

so where do you draw the line? I hope it is at least with the creation of children . . . that would be a victim
I object to incest because of the risk that any children an incestuous couple produce will develop horrible genetic disorders. The British Pakistani community, who produce nearly 3% of all births in Britain, account for nearly a third of all children with genetic illnesses. They have a culture of cousin marriage. It is completely unacceptable, even for consenting adults, to inflict this on children. If they want to have children they should at least go through screening to determine if they are at risk.

So you would be pro incest if both partners were unable to have children? And are you for polygamy as well? How far should we twist and bend our moral fabric to meet the perverted interests of all? We don’t want to offend anyone right?

Apparently screwing your blood relative is disgusting and harmful to others, but a dude shoving his dick into another man’s fecal waste duct and potentially passing on an infection to another dude that wants his fecal waste duct penetrated is…fine?

No, making me pay for AIDS patients and the village idiots resulting from incest, that is not fine.
Since I do not have the habit of obsessing over what other people might or mi9ght not do behind closed doors it really does not matter to me.

Maybe, but if the majority starts spying on everyone to make sure that they live a live that pleases their god du jour it effects me even more.
This could lead to people being shot over the possession of mere plant material, I kid you not.

Why do you think I am pro incest? If two people are attracted to each other, who am I to say they can’t have a relationship together? I am not supporting or condemning incest. I explained that if it results in a life of misery for a child then I am wholly against it. And the individuals must decide whether it is right to pursue an incestuous relationship given the stigma associated with it, which may affect their family.
Hypothetical scenario: a brother and sister are separated at birth and grow up without knowing that they have a sibling. They both meet and are immediately attracted to one another. They have sex. According to you that is a sin (and no, I haven’t been watching Star Wars).
Similarly with polygamy. If no-one is being coerced, and it is done with openness and honesty then I can’t condemn it. I believe people must pursue happiness, which is fleeting in our short time in this bizarre universe. But if it is forced or causes someone harm then I am against it.
And, forbes, is anal sex between consenting heterosexual couples OK?

Anal sex between heterosexual couples, even a married one, is still condemned by scriptures. It is known as Sodomy. So I am not condemning it purely from a homosexual point of view. I am also condemning it (through scriptures) for heterosexual couples as well.
As for the hypothetical scenario, they are not guilty of sin because they don’t know that they are related. Sin occurs when one knowingly disobey God’s law. However they did commit sin since the had premarital sex.
The rest is obviously just differences in belief. You believe that people should pursue happiness. I believe there is nothing inherently wrong with this, but it can lead to disobedience to God’s will. The problem with just doing whatever one wants is that it focuses on selfishness. Ya, Polygamy, incest, homosexuality might feel good or seem right to some, but it is in direct disobedience to God and by disobeying his commands it shows that your needs are most important.
Of course, you have to believe scriptures to believe this.

no matter how much i try to rationalize that these were two consenting adults, I just want to puke every time i see this thread title. There is just something very disturbing/instinctual about the matter of incest. I think you would really have to try hard to ignore it. Hey relax many people felt that way about homosexuality about 25-30 years ago. After Hollywood, the liberal media and most Universities get a hold of your mind it will end up being just another alternative lifestyle. Just a matter of time my friend, just a matter of time.
That is actually not that hard to do.
Just write them down on a piece of paper and no matter how contradictory they might be you can always say that you consistently believe what is written on there.
If that is to straightforward for you, get someone else to write it for you and wait a few years, then you are golden.

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to go that far, but at this point we’ve gone too far in the opposite direction. And if you don’t think that is going to cost us in time, money and pain down the road you’re mistaken.
Rational Gaze wrote:

And herein lies the fundamental problem with society today. When did this first happen? We used to live in a society where we did care about the sort of place that it was becoming. No, I’m not talking about spying on your neighbors. But there was a sense of morality which as a side effect helped keep both crime rates and health care costs down. Now nothing really matters, two guys can get married in some states. People can walk around in green stretch pants with their stomachs hanging over the elastic band. A child who grows up in a home with his mother and a different boyfriend each month. Everything is A okay! This is brought to you by people like Rational Gaze walking around actually believing that what other people do within the context of, oh I don’t know just fill in the blank, is fine with him. Remember one very important thing, people can do whatever they like, but there will always be a price that society will pay!
How did we ever get this stupid?

Dustin, of course there’s nothing wrong with homosexuality after all it’s accepted by society right? And that’s exactly what makes it okay. But when you’re 25 year old son tells you that you are bigoted because you don’t understand why he wants to marry his sister - Don’t say I didn’t warn you my friend.
It’s all a matter of where one draws the line isn’t it? You can see all sorts of problems with incest right? But you’ve never lived in a society that looked at homosexuality just as you look at incest, I have. And I can emphatically tell you that I recall a time when people had the same attitude about homosexuality. Things don’t suddenly become okay, they are gradually introduced. Incest and polygamy? It’s just a matter of time. First there must be toleration, then later on comes acceptance.
