Got a little loose on a couple reps but felt solid overall. Was asked what I want to bench at the meet, and my response is I don’t really have a bench goal for it. I’m satisfied with 425 in light of my injuries. I’d like to get a higher number but if I don’t I won’t be upset. Longer term goal is 450.

Finally figured out the lockout, now I’ll need to make it a smooth transition so there’s no stopping mid rep like in this video. Technique is limiting me. The fact that I was able to take this weight three times, and with the speed off the floor I had, means that I’m strong enough to do more, but technique needs to be perfected to do it. Frustrating.

El Diablo (the dude who runs the joint) would be pleased. Actually, he’s told me that he will have me take 666 as one of my squat attempts.
The trophy shelf is just as rugged as the rest of the gym. The shelf’s nails are barely holding onto the wall, and a couple of the trophies are broken. One of them is a deadlifting trophy, where one of the guy’s hands has broken and the bar is crooked. Even the trophies are doing max effort lifts.
