Mail and PO Boxes

Does anyone feel there is an advantage to getting a personal mail box of PO box to have your gear delivered to?

I was thinking of getting one as an alternate to home address to prevent possible “flags” going up at customs.

If they do in fact somehow flag our names/addresses then it might help. However it would still have your name and zip code. If you’re going to get busted for receiving gear in the mail they’re going to bust you whether you have a PO box or not. If you have the PO box in a fake name an they bust you it’s an additional felony.

The end result will be the same bro… You will still be linked to your P.O. Box. Cops have plenty of resources available to find out who a P.O. Box belongs to and their physical address. If you use a fake name it may take them longer to figure it out but you may face additional charges(like Schwart said). The only advantage I can see is if you don’t want anyone at your house to “accidentally” open your package(ie: wife,gf,bf,kids,etc.).

Just get it sent to your house w/ a fake name, and if it seems fishy when the package is delivered, such as having to sign for it or them asking if such and such is here, then just simply say that person does not live here and do not accept the package. You might be out some gear, but you’ll be out of jail time also by not accepting a package if its a controlled delivery.

USPS typically won’t deliver mail to an addresses without the adressee’s name on the box. Plus if a mailman has been in the same neighborhood for a while he’ll know the fake-named person doesn’t live there. It might not work.

True, if the mail man is very family with your family it might not work. I haven’t had a bad experience as of yet. How’s the postman to know if you have your girlfriend living with you?

This is what someone I know well did;

He got his girlfriend to open the PO Box. Then sent the package to the po box addressed to his GF’s first name and a random last name. If it went bad, its pretty obvious his gf didnt order the stuff.

The original buyers name is not linked, and I’m sure there are a million “Sarah’s” out there. The GF is also safe because she isn’t “Sarah Hunter” she is “Sarah Morgan”

The catch to this approach is that “Sarah” needs to be on top of things incase of an issue.

That’s ok until you piss her off or you break up with her. Then she starts spout’n off about your arrangement. Not sure that’s such a good idea… Now you have a “conspiracy” to commit ongoing illegal activity. Conspiracy = felony for both of you

So because you broke up she is going to walk into a police station and say that you forced her to import gear? Even if this did happen, there is nowhere near enough proof to issue a search warrant. She doesn’t live there, so she may not give the police permission to enter, and I doubt the police are going to even look at what some mean ex-girlfriend has to say. This is like someone saying “Hey officer, that guy smokes pot.”

Furthermore, how is it ongoing illegal activity when they can’t prove anything was brought in before unless you got caught when it happened?

This would be a case of he said, she said with no proof and no legal footing. For a small time personal user I sincerely doubt too much negative would come from this route. Any and every thing having to do with getting gear has its risks and rewards, however I don’t see your take on this one coming to pass in reality, especially not in this city where I live. DC Cops have a lot better things to do than chase one personal use AAS user.

Po. Box and a fake name will do the trick. Postmen don’t look at names when they deliver to Po.Boxes they just slip your stash in.

I appreciate the responses related to my thread.
Thanks

IMO it’s a bad idea… I had a long-time gf a number of years back that I envolved with certain activities. Everything was good at the time and didn’t see a problem with it. Then, we broke up and she was a little upset over the whole deal to say the least.

A month or so later I had a buddy call me up because he was in a local bar and heard one the x-gf’s friends telling everybody where I kept my gear, how much, etc. Holy shit! How many fuck’n people did she tell???

So my point is don’t envolve anyone you don’t have to. It MAY come back and bite you in the ass later down the road. Just send it to your address or P.O. in someone elses name. The fuck’n postman doesn’t even look at the name anyway!

The prob with a fake name is that if you get caught, now you are facing more charges. I would definitely suggest using your real name.

If things don’t look good when you go to pick up a package, then leave it and come back in a couple weeks. And try to pick it up at night-if the post office is open then.

If it comes to your house, don’t sign for it. If it is just left at your house, write “return to sender” on it and let it sit for a few weeks.

I really can’t see any advantage to using a fake name.

As was mentioned, if you have a steady mailman, they are probably going to remember names and might not deliver something without your name on it.

A P.O Box is excellent. (1) Its hard to stake out a box; (2) there has to be an overwhelming reason for a judge to order a search of your house based on what’s in the box; (3) if gear is found in your house, the house can literally be taken from you as part of the narcotics arrest, leaving your family homeless.

Just imagine your house being auctioned off.

Get the box.
