Thanks Andrew! I will be planning meals and snacks much more thoroughly in future and am getting to grips with all this! I am very busy with work and kids etc so I think planning and prep is key.
That said, I am not aiming to be building builder level ripped so perhaps not quite as strict as you. If you get a mo, let me know your fav meals!
This wasn’t directed to me, but I’m consuming an all animal diet these days, which makes getting protein pretty simple. My training log has me listing my daily meal, which tends to be really high in protein. Here is what I ate yesterday, as an example.
This was a “leftover’s night”, so I just threw a bunch of stuff together. Venison and Pork meatballs, alongside 6 Chicken wings from Buffalo Wild Wings (I got them for free, since it’s my birthmonth: how cool is that?), with some Bison and pork sausage, pork cracklin’, 4 scrambled eggs with some grassfed cottage cheese and sour cream.
Steak and eggs is a classic as well. As is surf and turf: pair some steak with some manner of fish or shrimp.
If you’re trying to go lean, you can get leaner cuts of animals. Sirloin for steak, breasts/tenderloins for chicken and turkey, tuna for fish, etc. Egg whites are classic bodybuilding food as well. As much as I don’t care for snacks, things like hardboiled eggs, greek yogurt and cottage cheese can get that protein up as well.
