Better to have fT4 at midrange or a bit better.
Mid-range is 2.65/2=1.325
So your fT4=1.06 was low!
fT3 is the active hormone, T4 is a reservoir for fT3–>fT3 conversion
Always good to test fT3
So your history of using iodized salt and/or vitamins that list iodine+selenium is …
You can get a good measure of overall thyroid function by checking your oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky.
I have used iodized salt throughout my whole life for various foods and I have been taking a multivitamin for the last 3 years that has 150 mcg of iodine and 150 mcg of selenium. I’m going to take my body temperature in the morning and post it later.
I’m having patience because I do believe I can recover my natural test levels, but nearly 5 months of dealing with this is a long time man. How much longer do I have to wait to feel normal again? Sorry for the aggressive response but I’m just very frustrated. I’m just searching for a way to help speed up the process if recovery is possible.
Update: Endocrinologist appointment won’t be until sometime in December, great… In the mean time I’m just going to be phoning them every week to see if they have a cancellation so that I may be able to see her sooner. Symptoms haven’t really gotten any better, mentally I feel more calm, like I’m getting used to/ accepting feeling this shitty, but that is probably due to college starting again so I am distracted with HW, Tests, trying to find internships, etc. Still feel depressed, still have low libido, my ejaculation volume is very low. I eat very strict and clean, tracking foods daily, workout 4 days a week, and try to live normally but I feel like half a man. Hopefully the endocrinologist has an open date soon because I feel like I’ve waited long enough. I also suspect that I may have a varicocele on my left testicle because these last two months I’ve noticed the vessels feel very swollen, almost like a bag of worms, also I noticed a painless lump on the top of my right testicle. Idk if this has anything to do with my problems, but I highly doubt it would cause my testosterone levels to be so low. Just have to be patient.
Lump: Just so your know, testicular cancers are a young man’s disease. These cancers can secrete FSH and FSH labs can be high or FSH largely out of balance with LH.
Its weird to me that you continually have high LH numbers and fairly normal FSH numbers. I would have thought that a prohormone, especially for a short period, should only disrupt HPTA but it seems you are regulating fine but still having low T. Maybe its coincidence and not the prohormone? With E2 levels like that you should definitely check prolactin if you are having gyno.
I definitely got gyno from this prohormone after discontinuing use. I’ve always had very tiny nipples and a tight lower chest but after discontinuing use my nipples began to form tiny lumps behind them and now they are puffy and I’ve noticed tissue growth that was never there five months ago.
