Ok, i have just calculated my free Test using a online calculator, but the result comes back different to what the Endo calculated.
The Endo’s calculations were - FT 0.19nmol/L (0.092-0.5nmol/L)
Neibido online calculator says - FT 0.252nmol/L
Based on Albumin, SHBG, Total Test.
Are there different ways of calculating these? Or did the Endo order a analog test (apparently clinically useless and inaccurate) instead of a calculated free T?
The reason she wouldnt treat me is because my Free Test levels were in the normal range.
Update -
Local GP understood and agreed that i should have been offered a trial.
He couldnt prescribe himself, but offered a second opinion, but it would be a few months wait again…
He offered to write a referral letter and his support to a local private hospital if i wanted to sort this asap. So not really ideal, although my daughter works at the private hospital so i may be able to get some sort of discount under her employee scheme.
Last option is the online doctor, £25 to check my results and prescription. Meds are £12pm and repeat prescriptions £17.50pm, so not too bad.
I have now been accepted for a trial of Sustanon 250 from a private doctor.
Just waiting for the first prescription to be arranged. 125mg (0.5ml) every 7 days to start off with. Bloods will be checked after 3 months and dose changed if required.
I have read that Sustanon may work better at a slightly higher dose (1ml) every 10 days?
You’re SHBG is going to decrease once you start TRT (already low) which is why it’s really important to inject smaller more frequent doses otherwise you’re going to wonder why it’s taking so long to feel good.
Hi buddy I have read your article and I am currently under the endo from a nhs aswell in the uk, although my testosterone came back at 8.4nmol/L and my labs reference range is 8-27nmol/L although some other labs in the uk are 8.6-29nmol/L which im furious about because my lab inparticular are less than the other in the uk.
I have just been to the treatment center and received a load of bollocks saying I have pubertal gyno, pink stretch marks but isn’t cushings, and made me do a 24hr cortisol urine sample, full panel of hormones, and a dex overnight test. currently waiting results but they wouldn’t offer me testosterone at all. He said ‘I can give you testosterone, but even if I can I wont, itll make you more infertile than you think you already are.’
Do you get any back pain at all, sensitive nails after cutting(not even cutting them low, cutting them in general.) Wake up with joint pain?
I could have pressurised the NHS to give me a trial, but i could take months and tbh, i want my quality of life to improve asap! So i went private, although if the trial works for me i will be asking for another NHS referral for treatment that i should be entitled to. (Government cost cutting) and imo male discrimination as females have no problems being prescribed for hormone treatment.
Also check out Paolo Broccardo’s YouTube channel, lots of great info!
