hi.
i’m back with a few changes, problems, and questions.
here is a link to my old thread:
i went to go see an endo a few weeks ago, and he just called me with the results.
my total T is about 290
free is 8, i believe.
he said my prolactin levels looked good.
i’ll post the other results when i receive them.
my T is still low, but a lot better than 30.
i’ve been supping with zinc, rez-v, and now some extra C, so i guess that’s been helping some.
the endo doesn’t believe it to be a tumor, just an abnormal functioning of the pituitary concerning T.
i wanted to try hCG, but he seems hell bent on wanting to use androgel. even after showing him a study on the effectiveness of hCG, which he neglected to read, he told me that he could find nothing on the topic during our phone conversation today.
ugh.
i’m probably gonna have to find yet another doc, but it’d be nice to fax or email him some reading material.
i don’t wanna pay $200 for androgel, when i may not need it. but, i don’t wanna have to find another doc to try hCG.

Well you need to establish primary or secondary. The primary cause need to be identified as well plus one needs to look into adrenals and thyroid which help to complement hormone production and functionality at the tissues level. goto lef.org they have compunding gels for 40 bucks a month. If you have good insurance you may want to contact me for information on a Dr that is top in the field and may even accept your insurance. Alot of guys have gone to him and they have been giving good feed back.
i’m guessing secondary since my LH and FSH are bottomed out.
i don’t have all of the results from my last test with my. the doc hasn’t replied to my calls.
i haven’t been accepted for insurance because of this.
i was thinking of getting hCG and perhaps an AI myself and trying them, but i’d feel a lot more comfortable with a doc. i’m still searching in my area for one.
DO not self medicate because alot of people that come to see us end up making them selves worse when the issue was never testosterone, but some thing else was out of balance. In guys <30 it is not due to testosterone deficeincy but rather something else that could be affecting the signal which can be caused from a stressor that needs to be idenfied. If you do not remove the stressor then the HPTA will never rebalance it self. So many Dr’s are too lazy to dig for the cause and just play fill the tank with hormones creating a bandaid effect which in not a long termn solution.
hmmm, i see.
that’s what i want to know. the cause. i don’t want to have to use TRT forever…
do you know of a good doc in the GA region then?
i’d like to work with someone who will work with me. my current doc still hasn’t responded to my calls…
like i said, i’ve been adding some supps, and have been beginning to feel a bit better over time… could mineral/vitamin deficiencies really drive T-levels so low?
Vitamin D, Thyroid levels (& Iodine), Ferritin, Cortisol, Estradiol, DHEA, Pregnenelone, (probiotics/general gut health), Zinc, etc. can all have huge impacts on Testosterone levels.
sucks about the doctor and the blood test results. Any chance you can just stop by and ask to see your file and write out your results?

if you have good insurance it may be worth a trip to come up to see Dr Overbeck and myself. It may save you months of headaches and set back. Get it done right the first time as well as looking for the root cause and not just treating the symptoms.
