Low/Near Zero Estrogen

Need some input and help on my latest blood work. I’m male, 31, not on TRT, and have issues with emotions (zero emotions), erections are possible but can’t hold them/have no feeling, mental issues, sometimes joint pain, and so on.

My testosterone and free testosterone looks good:

But all of my estrogens (E1, E2, E3) are all low:
grafik

How is that possible? Did any of you guys had something like that? Should i start taking estrogen to at least have a bit of estrogen?

Are you taking any vitamins, minerals, ED meds, DIM, etc? 17pg isn’t crazy low, but it’s on the low side

Testosterone is converted to DHT and also some of your estrogen is converted from testosterone and enzymes are needed for this process.

Do you use a lot of zinc long term?

I took some vitamin E (around 800 IU), zinc (50mg), magnesium and a b-complex every day for some time. Stopped all and then did the E1…E3 test after a week. Never used ED meds or DIM, just normal vitamins and minerals.

In older tests the E2 was around 12 pg/ml. Is that low enough to have symptoms or is it still normal?

The maximum i used was 50mg zinc (as zincpicolinate) over several months.

My DHT level is 400 ng/l (from an older test, but still the same symptoms):

Your E levels arent concerning. Stop taking supplements, Eat right, sleep well, and exercise. You should be fine. Test again in 2 months.

This is could easily be why your E2 is low.

Zinc suppresses aromatase.

RDA for men is about 10mg a day.

50mg a day would crash mine too pre TRT

Yes it is and normal for a 10 year old boy before puberty.

@roadie Thanks i will then skip the zinc and will see if that helps.
@systemlord
Which i’m not, so i’m not sure what you mean by that
There is an article from t-nation which states some reference ranges:

Age 2-29: 28.0 pg/ml
Age 30-39: 25.7 pg/ml
Age 40-49: 24.7 pg/ml
Age 50-59: 22.1 pg/ml
Age 60-69: 21.5 pg/ml
Age 70-80: 21.9 pg/ml

Looking at these i’m way out of the normal range

It means an estrogen at 12 pg/mL isn’t normal for an adult male. The truth is adult men in the mid teens are at risk for osteoporosis.

Another thing worth noting is that most of us normally just look at e2.

On your labs the ref is (under 32).

Your over halfway to the upper ref on that range- bit strange there’s no lower ref limit. Makes it hard to work out exactly where you are with that.

I’d put money on youve over zinced! Definitely cut the zinc out for a while- I had this years ago.

I found if you used a high dose zinc for a couple.of days you felt amazing (probably brought e2 down a bit), but if I kept using it I ended up tired- lethargic and depressed. Wpukd also go flat and piss a lot (dropped all the water out with low e2).

Few IPA beers maye help you bounce it back up a touch.

@systemlord Thanks for clarifying.

@roadie I always supplemented zinc because i thought it shouldn’t hurt as most men have high estrogen. There were weeks were i took over 100mg per day + high meat diet (which is high in zinc too).
How long did it take for you to go back feeling normal?

Week maybe 2
