Hello,
Quick background:
I am 27 years old. 3 years of steroid use, has caused low test issues. I quit steroids completely and I am trying my best not to get on trt.
I was on and off trt for two and a half years. Most of the time off. I went about a year and a half off of test and I’ve been natural. I have not gotten bloodwork because I don’t have insurance and in my state I can’t use private labs to get my own bloodwork.
The MAIN issue is low sex drive and erectile dysfunction. I go through periods where I have pretty good libido and good erectile function but I also go through periods of total ED and no libido at all. It’s very unpredictable. I can go for a month or two of total ED where I can’t even use cialis or Levitra to help. The only thing I’ve taken that has actually shown me results is toremifene. When on toremifene, it gives me pretty consistent libido. The problem is torem really gives me some terrible side effects and it’s definitely not something to be on for long term.
4 weeks ago I started trt. First two weeks I had good sexual function and major improvement. But it the. Disappeared and I’m WORSE than I was off of testosterone. So I am going to get back off the test. I’m going to give the natural route one more chance.
But the point of this post, is my body temp. Upon waking up, i am consistently at 96.3-96.5. During the day the highest I ever reach is 97.8. On average I’m at 97.4.
My question is, what can I do to improve this? I consume iodized salt daily and I take a 12.5mg iodine supplement occasionally. I don’t really feel any improvement from the iodine supplement. I’ve considered t3 but I’m not sure if there is something I can try before going that route.
What should I do?
You don’t just blindly start T3 unless you actually have a thyroid problem. It sounds like your TRT dosage is too high, instead of quitting you should have adjusted your dosage down. It can always get a little hairy 4-5 weeks into starting TRT, lots of things are happening, like getting shut down while your body is adapting to exogenous T.
You quit TRT when your hormones were unstable, you should have given it more time. Why do you feel the need to increase your body temperature?
My body temperature is slightly lower (97.6) off TRT, on it’s at 98.6 during the day on TRT.
How long have you been either natural or on a stabile does of something? You are putting your system through a roller coaster my man. If you are going to stay off then stay off for 4-6 months and see how you feel. If you are going to get on TRT then you have to give it 2-3 months. MOST of us feel like shit 2 weeks in as our system shuts down. WE HAVE ALMOST ALL gone through that so its nothing new.
Stabilize and reassess.

I feel like I have made a decent recovery trying to go off all steroids. But the main reason I quit, is that I was experiencing ED issues while in cycle. I was using tren, deca, etc. So all of those cycles caused a shit storm in my brain.
I’m pretty certain, along with some others, that the main issue isn’t just low test, but the effects on neurotransmitters, adrenal system and possibly thyroid are the reason we have low libido and ED. Even when we are on trt.
One thing that I know helps me for sure, is hydrocortisone. Every time I go on hydrocortisone I see improvement. So I know that my adrenal system is compromised.
From researching this site and other sites, my body temp seems low. According to some, this is a clear indicator of an under active thyroid. I’m just trying to stabilize myself so I can live a normal life. It’s been a very hard time the past two years. At times it feels like all my issues got resolved, because I feel so good naturally. And I’ll feel this way for a month or two. But then things take a turn seemingly over night. Then I spend 2 months feeling horrible. I can’t pursue relationships because of this. So the ultimate goal is to be stable. I know I will never be 100% back. Even during my good periods I’d say I’m at 75%. But in my bad periods I’m at what feels like 20%.
Toremifene will kill me if I use it for long periods, trt just doesn’t work, and natural It’s a rollercoaster ride. I’m just looking to be in a state that will let me live normally. Doesn’t have to be perfect, I just want it to be tolerable. Thyroid seems like it might be another piece to the puzzle.
I agree. The longest I went was a year off from everything, including toremifene.
Hard to do at this moment since gyms are pretty much shutdown, but get into a sauna and sweat it out. You have compounds that the body cant easily rid itself of. You have to sweat it out. TRT might just have to happen. And if youre in a constant state of weight loss that’s a problem too
You are worrying about nothing. This is meaningless. It doesn’t indicate a frigging thing and should never be considered a diagnostic tool. Seriously, it is meaningless.

Uh, no. It means that you have a serious underlying issue that needs to be addressed, by a real doctor or three.
