Looking for Help Decoding My Blood Test Results

Good day,

To start off in 2019 I had surgery to remove a cancer tumor and lost a testicle in the process. A year later I started hormone therapy due to not feeling the same and having low testosterone levels. This year I still have the same feelings and they check my blood every so often. However after my last test I requested to speak with a doctor as I feel I’m still low. I have not gained back any strength, if anything I’m struggling with things that were easy and many other symptoms of low test. My recent blood work has two measurements but I am unclear as to which is the better image of what my levels really are, they are as follows.

Testosterone bioavailable 5.6 nmol/L with normal on the test stating 4.8-14.0 nmol/L

Testosterone of 8.2 nmol/L with the test stating normal as being 9.5-30 nmol/L

I am planning on requesting a higher dosage for my treatment as I am currently on 5mg of 1% androgel packets once a day

Thank you for your time

That explains it. Pretty poor response is expected from the gels. Compounded cream or injections would have you feeling better

I’m afraid androgel isn’t the answer given your response, it doesn’t work well for a lot of guys. In fact androgel is so unreliable a lot of the time none of the experienced TRT doctors would even considering using it in their practice anymore.

A higher dosage androgel won’t get you to where your levels need to be to be free of symptoms.

What choices would you recommend I bring up to my doctor?

Your choices will be determined by the country are you live in. You want injections which is cypionate, ethanate or sustanon injecting one or more times a week.
