Looking for advice to lose another 20 pounds

The rants aren’t really my style, but I suppose everything doesn’t have to be for me, but I really appreciate Tanner Shuck’s basic approach. Just eat food, lift and condition. And I’m happy to pee in a bucket… for progress.

Yeah, I figure this is “don’t hate the player, hate the game” as far as those rants go. If you speak intelligently and calmly, no one watches. Go on a rant and the viewers respond.

Today worked out better than I expected, given it was dinner at mums.

250 mls V8 pre workout
protein shake

Breakfast
Black coffee
2 tbls heavy cream
3 eggs
1/2 zuccini
1/4 capcicum
1 cup cooked jasmine rice.
(there were pan fried, but kinda steamed in water, no fats added)

Lunch
sockeye salmon
1 cup green graps
green salad with squeeze of lime

dinner
coleslaw
1 tbls mayo
1 lamb steak
1 serve meatballs

4 protein shakes

F - 79/56 (+23) :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
P - 206/225 (-19)

I added in an extra shake, but they are 2.5 g of fat, so will be working more this issue.

Coffee may need to go down to 1 tablespoon between 2 coffees to help reduce that down.

On the bright side at least you got rid of that heavy whipping cream in your coffee

It’s been a long time since I did anything psychedelic, but I’m pretty confident that I never once felt like working afterwards.

So, I tell my clients that if they can’t drink their coffee black, then they don’t like coffee, they just like the $h!t they put in it. Lol.

I agree that if weight loss is your goal, the cream should probably go. Could you try mixing a protein shake and using that as your “cream” instead? You’ll at least be getting protein that way and fewer calories in the same volume.

Lots of great suggestions in this thread! I’m impressed, except for the whole “no veggies” idea… But you all knew that was coming, right? lol

That’s the truth. Anyone says they like chocolate, they just like chocolate-flavored sugar.

That’s not a bad idea actually. Make like a protein version of Bullet proof coffee, might try that tomorrow

And yea, I had a guy I used to work with tell me ‘just eat meat and ofal, and you’ll lose weight’ and while that may be the case, I don’t really believe that you can get 100% of all nutrients you need out of that, and I love veggies soo…

I like to add a teaspoon of cacao to my black coffee. It doesn’t make it taste any better, but it adds some phytochemicals. I have been doing that for more than a decade. (Don’t forget to stir it fairly frequently, or it tends to settle like mud in the bottom.)

I switched to black coffee over the summer, and while I prefer and sometimes have milk or half&half in it on the weekends, black totally works for work mornings. I’m having some now, in fact. It took me maybe 3 days to get used to it, but I was drinking it with 1%-2% milk at home.

An advantage I’ve noticed is that it’s excellently hot, which is nice. Current temp outside: 10° Probably 55° here in the living room.

You’re killing it on protein!

You seem to enjoy fats a bit more than carbs. Do you think this would be easier for you if you dropped your carbs to ~100g daily so you could take your fats up?

Then you’d land like 225/ 100/ 100. That would let you eat much fattier meat, if you prefer.

That would still let you keep carbs periworkout, which seems to be working pretty well.

I apologize if we’ve discussed this already.

Sometimes a good idea is to eat approximately the same thing each weekday if you are the type that can stick to that. You can then meal prep on a Sunday by “over-cooking” dinner and then eating that dish for your lunches later in the week. Sometimes I will plot out what a good target day will look like in my fitness pal a day ahead based on what I have in the house. You can put it on paper so to speak and see what you need to tweak or add in and/or take out to hit your macro target.

If I just plan a macro target but don’t put some thought to what an actual ideal day of meals looks like before hand it’s a crap shoot most of the time.

Uncomfortable fact of the day - cold coffee and warm soda are the same temperature.

A bit slack in updating

Yesterday and the day before were average days. Over on fats.

Today

375ml juice pre workout
Breakfast
Protein
3 eggs
coffee with thickened cream

Lunch
Saolmon
Protein powder
mixed veggies

Dinner
Scotch fillet
1 potato
Pumpkin
Broccolini
Protein powder

1 protein shake before bed

C - 70/100 (-30)
F - 76 / 78(-2)
P - 225/225 (0)

So the green part of the green faces is not just green, I need more colors, but will be consistant in keeping the macros right.

I’ve always had my best success eating the same shit I always eat, just less of it :man_shrugging:t3:

I find cutting specific foods a little pointless and more likely to make me fail. I’ve never tried to be sub 5% body fat with a need for extreme hormone manipulation via diet but can successfully maintain ~ 10% bf with the food guide pyramid slightly altered for more protein. ~12-15% if I want to live a little.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.
